As a matter of information, the Board is unwilling to consider two additional advertising signs such as you have already erected on the property. The two signs Just referred to are without directional information and are presently in violation of the pro~isions in the Ordinance which control the number of standard advertising signs permitted to a business enterprise, as well as being too close to the property lines. We are sure that you will want to comply with the local zoning Ordinance and the Board of Appeals is favorable to the erection of small 1 ft. by 2 ft. direction, only, parking field signs ind~ting "Entrance" and "Exit". We might also state that your request for a reduction for the setback on the lollipop sign is improperly included in Appeal No. 603 noted above and would not be granted in any case. Page 2 - Ali Andersen The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. In this connection we are unwilling to grant to your business a privilege which is denied to all others. Accordingly favorable action on directional parking field signs will not be granted unless compliance is obtained in the matter of the relocating the lollipop sign at least 5 feet from any property lines. The location of the signs closer than 5 feet to the public highway constitutes serious violation of both State rules and the Town of Southold Zoning Ordinance.
