Herbert Raorenberg Town Harbor Lane, Southold, Long Idhnd 16 August 1963 Southold Town Board of Appeals Southold, New York Gentlemen: I am writing to express my disapPDoval of permitting any increase of size of sign anywhere in Southold Town. In particular I refer to the application before the Board of Appeals for the Southold Pharmacy. If allow.d this would discriminate against the other merchants in the Township and is definitely contrary to the general public interest. The Southold Pharmacy, under the Ordinance, is permitted an enormous sign -- much larger than the signs on stores in the village. It was clearly shown at the hearing of the Town Board in regard to changing the Zoning Ordinance that the majority of people are in favor of strengthening and enforcing the Sign Ordinance as it now stands. It would be distressing indeed for the Board of Appeals to grant this or any similar request. I have discussed this with many residents who feel as I do.
