The Board of Town Trustees took the following actioil during its regular meeting held on
Thursday, June 21,2001 regarding the above matter:
WHEREAS, Proper- T Permit Services on behalf of GEORGE PAPPAS applied to the Southold
Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance ofthe Town of
SouL'1old, application dated May 31, 2001, and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council
for their findings and recommendations, aTld,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application Oil
June 21, 2001, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in
question and the surrounding area, and,

WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted
concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standards set forth in Chapter 97 of the Southold
Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health,
safety and general welfare of the people of the town,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of GEORGE PAPPAS to
construct wood stairs from the top of the bluff to filled area behind existing bulkhead, to include
midway landing 4'X S', and platform at top 4'X 10'. Place beach sand fill approx. 30 cy. behind
existing bulkhead. This permit is granted with the stipulation that there is no disturbance to the
bluff.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be considered a deteIT.J.ination
made for any other Department or Agency, which may also have an application pendi.'1g for the
. same or similar project.
Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years from the date it is signed. Fees
must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the date of this notification.
TW0 inspections ate required and the Trustees are to be notified upon completion of said project.

Dear Sir:
The Trustees approved the application of George Pappas to construct stairs on the bluff on his
property in Southold at the meeting of June 21, 2001 with certain conditions: that the face of the
bluff not be disturbed and that changes be made in the dimensions of the stairs.
The project description therefore is changed to read as follows:
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Construct wood stairs from top of bluff to filled area behind
existing bulkhead, overall run 47'- 6', overall rise 21'; to include midway landing 4' x 8',
platform at top 4' x 10', and platform at bottom 4' x 4'. Place beach sand fill approxi-
mately 30 cu. yds. behind existing bulkhead to depth ofapprox. 9".
Revised drawings of the project are enclosed.
