THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT THE FOLLOWING RESOLUTION WAS
ADOPTED BY THE SOUTHOLD TOWN BOARD AT A REGULAR MEETING
HELD ON NOVEMBER 21l, 1998:
WHEREAS, the Town of Southold has requested the County of Suffolk to
dredge a navigation channel in the following creeks: 1. Brushes Creek; 2.
Budd's Pond; 3. Cedar Beach Harbor Inlet; Il. Corey Creek; 5.
Broadwater's Cove; 6. Little Creek; 7. Wickham's Creek; 8. Richmond
Creek; 9. Deep Hole Creek; 10. James Creek; 11. Gull Pond; 12. Town
Creek; and 13. Jockey Creek; 1~. Mud Creek; and 15. West Creek.
WHEREAS, the County of Suffolk proposes to do said dredging of the
aforementioned waterways in the Town of Southold at a nominal cost to
Town of Southold; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish said dredging, plans, specifications,
agreements, and other documents must be executed on behalf of the Town
of Southold; and
WHEREAS, this approval shall remain in effect for the period of the
required permits and any renewals thereof; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED that Supervisor Jean W. Cochran be and she hereby is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town of Southold, all necessary
plans and specifications, surplus disposal area agreements, assurances to
the county of Suffolk, license and/or dredging permit applications to the
Federal and State Agencies and any and all other documents that may be
required to accomplish said dredging work.

ASSURANCES FOR DREDGING OF RICHMOND CREEK
ltaXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
NEW YORK.
WHEREAS, the Town of Southold
navigation channel in Richmond Creek
as shown on the accompanying maps; and
has requested the County of Suffolk to dredge a
, Town of Southold
WHEREAS, the County of Suffolk proposes to undertake said dredging; and
of 11/24/98
WHEREAS, the supervisor of the Town of Southold by Resolution No.320f the Town of
Southold has been authorized and directed to sign for and on behalf of the Town of
Southold assurances to the County of Suffolk, that the said Town of Southold
will perform and all acts required to be performed by said Town in connection with the preparation for
the dredging operation as aforesaid, obtain all necessary easements and rights-of-way for said dredging
operation and obtain the use of areas indicated on the attached map for surplus disposal areas together
with and all necessary rights incidental to said dredging operation:
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the benefits to the Town of Southold
as aforesaid, the Town of Southold hereby assures the County of Suffolk that it will:
(a) Furnish, free of cost to the County of Suffolk, all lands, easements, rights-of-
way, releases from adjoining property owners, and surplus disposal areas necessary for its activities
which may be performed as part of the dredging operations at Richmond Creek , and all as shown
on the attached map; and
(b) Indemnify and hold harmless the County of Suffolk from any claims, actions,
proceedings, judgments, liens, encumbrances or damages of any kind or nature what-so-ever resulting
from said improvement or resulting in any way from the said dredging operation or the use of equipment
at the said Richmond Creek ,or use of any surplus disposal area or any other area affected by said
dredging operation whether for new work, subsequent maintenance or otherwise.
