Box 61 Shoreham, NY 11786-0061 Re: Water Map Dear Ms. Toth: Please be advised that the Town Board considered your request for an amendment to the Water Map submitted January 17, 2007 at their January 30 Work Session. The policy of the Town Board is to support the installation of infrastructure providing public water to priority areas. These priority areas are those identified by the Suffolk County Water Authority or the Suffolk County Department of Health Services as existing homes with substandard water, or other already developed, or developing areas, in the hamlets. This policy has been developed as part of the comprehensive planning efforts of the Town. The Town is presently undertaking amendments to the water map in connection with this comprehensive planning initiative, however, the area identified in your letter as "Colony Pond" is not presently a priority area or otherwise identified by the Planning Department, Suffolk County Health Department, or the SCWA as an area to be included in these amendments. Accordingly, your request for an amendment to the water map has been denied by the Town Board. Thank you for your attention. They own a parcel of land on Colony Road in Southold and are in the process of doing a cluster subdivision. Weare requesting that the Board consider amending the water maps to allow public water for this project. I have included a survey of the project for your information. There is public water on Bayview Avenue which is in close proximity to our project. Upon further research within the town as to the status of water mains 1 was informed that we are approximately 900 feet from an existing 6" water main and approximately 200 feet from the nearest proposed water main. We don't believe that this project would damage the underlying aquifer or have a negative impact on the community. We are requesting that you allow a water main to come down Colony Road from either direction. Thank you for your attention to this matter. W~d? Vicki Toth ~"--- .att.
