CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Don Wilder called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM.
GUEST SPEAKER
Timothy Caufield - Peconic Land Trust
Member Jack McGreevy invited Timothy Caufield to explain to the members what the
Peconic Land Trust is. Tim described the Peconic Land Trust as a private organization
that was founded by John Halsey in 1983. Their primary mission is to preserve farmland
and open space, working directly with land owners. Some of the public benefits of this
process are habit protection, preservation of scenic vistas, and watershed protection.
CHAIRMAN'S ANNOUCEMENTS
Chairman Don Wilder distributed a draft of comments on the proposed local law regarding
the stormwater code. He requested the members submit their comments by 10:00 AM
Thurs., January 11, 2007 in order to make the deadline.

REPORTS
Member Jack McGreevy distributed a draft letter that he would like to send to the Town
Board regarding the LWRP. Chairman Don Wilder and the other members requested
some time to review the draft and inspect the referenced site.
Member Joyce Grigonis reported that she was recently appointed to the Council of
Environmental Quality (CEQ), by the County.

DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATION OF WETLAND PERMIT & COASTAL
EROSION PERMIT APPLICATIONS
Moved by Peter Young, seconded by Joyce Grigonis, it was
RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of CHRISTOPHER & EVELYN
CONKLIN to construct a 22'X 28' second-story addition and a 1026 sq.ft. second-story
addition to the existing dwelling, and to replace the existing 283 linear ft. of bulkhead in-
place, as needed.

RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of JOSEPH & CATHERINE
GENTILE for the existing wood deck approx. 12'X 28' with steps to grade and existing
conversion of an attached carport to attached garage 13.9'X 29.4' and 6'X 19.5' wooden
deck with steps to grade.

RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of WALTER WllM to reface
approx. 70' of existing wood bulkhead with C-loc vinyl sheathing and install a 12' return
and a 20' return.

RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of TOM & JULIA
FITZPATRICK to construct a 4'X 16' ramp up to a 4'X 20' catwalk continuing with a 4'X
42' catwalk section onto a 4'X 20' fixed dock section with a 32"X 20' seasonal aluminum
ramp onto a seasonal 6'X 20' floating dock secured by two 2-pile 8" dia. pilings.

The CAC Supports the application, however, recommends the applicant re-designs the
catwalk into a straight line and avoids the use of treated lumber on the entire structure.

RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of CHRISTOPHER & AMY
ASTLEY to construct a two-story wood frame addition to the single-story wood frame
dwelling, and a screened porch. Install a 12'X 20' swimming pool, relocate the existing
driveway, and replace the existing sanitary system.

used to prevent erosion, drywells are installed to contain the pool backwash, and a
permanent berm is installed where the driveway is, on the south side of the pool.

RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of NANCY SUE MUELLER to
remove and replace (in-place) existing +/-67' and +/-68' timber groins with +/-64' and +/-
60' low-profile, vinyl groins, respectively.

RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of RONALD & MARIA SMITH
to construct a fixed timber dock consisting of a 4'X 152' fixed, elevated, timber catwalk;
3'X 20' hinged ramp; and 6'X 20' float supported by (2) 8" dia. pilings.

REIBLlNG to reconstruct exterior walls in-place; raise existing foundation height 8"; add
loft; add leaching pool to existing sanitary system; and reconstruct deck in-kind/in-place.

area of bank that has been eroded by storm damage. Stabilize top of bluff with retaining

cy. of backfill. Remove existing bulkhead upon completion of landward bulkhead and
install a 10' non-turf buffer.

landward bulkhead and install a 10' non-turf buffer.

RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of MARY ZUPA to
maintenance dredge approx. 190 cy. of shoaled material from the mouth of the canal at
Paradise Point to maintain -4' MLW at max. of 1:2 slope. The dredge activity is proposed
to be conducted by barge crane with clamshell bucket. Place +/-50 cy. of dredged
materials along +/-100' of shoreline (+MHW) of property owned by Mary Zupa. Dredge
material to be used for beach re-nourishment. On-site containment of excess dredge
material on a temporary drying site on the upland portion of the subject property.

undermine the west bulkhead and to correct the wash-out on the east bulkhead within the

DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATION OF APPLICATIONS TO AMEND PERMITS
Moved by Jack McGreevy, seconded by Don Wilder, it was
RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Amendment application of EDWARD FERGUS to Amend
Permit #6302 to include 152 sq. ft. of clean fill for the installation of the sanitary system,
install two (2) drywells to be connected to sump pumps located within the proposed
dwelling, and the installation of a 160' French drain located approx. 140' from the wetland
boundary, along the northern property line.

The next meeting of the Conservation Advisory Council has been set for Wed., February
7,2007 at 4:30 PM at Down's Farm Preserve.
