For new building or new use: I. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Final Approval from Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage-disposal (S-9 form). 3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters. 4. Sworn statement from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains less than 2/10 of I % lead. 5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings and installations, a certificate of Code Compliance from architect or engineer responsible for the building. 6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements. B. For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses: I. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. A properly completed application and consent to inspect signed by the applicant. All of our flashings are pre-engineered to provide a weathertight seal without the use of caulk or other mastics. We offer a flashing kit for easy installation with proctically every type of roofing material and pitch including flat roofs, Spanish tile and metal roof panels. CONDENSATION PREVENTION When moisture appears on glass surfaces such as windows and mirrors, it's an indication that a home or room contains too much moisture. A ventilating skylight helps to prevent condensation by releasing the warm, moist air as it rises to the ceiling. Utilizing low-E glass - which keeps the indoor pane warmer - also reduces the chance for condensation to appear. Proper air flow around the skylight and a heat source underneath are also effective at preventing condensation. ROOF WINDOWS/SKYLIGHTS VS. DORMERS Installing a roof window or skylight rather than a dormer is a beautiful solution that makes very practical sense.
