TO CONSIDER PETITION
FOR STREET IMPROVE-
MENTS
Petition of the Owners of more than one-half
of the Real Property fronting on LONGVIEW
LANE. RAMBLER ROAD, PLEASANT
PLACE and WATERSEDGE WAY for the
improvement of said streets.
WHEREAS a written petition dated September 11, 1971, was heretofore
and on~ ;;'5
Section 200 of the Town Law of the State of New York for the improvement
, 1972, duly filed with this board pursuant to
of highways in said town known as Longview Lane, Rambler Road, Pleasant
Place and Watersedge Way situate at Bayview, in the Town of Southold, and
shown and designated on a certain map entitled "Map of Terry Waters at
Bayview, Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York" filed in the Suffolk
County Clerk's Office on December 29, 1958, as Map No. 2901, by the
permanent pavement of the same and the construction of such curbs, gutters,
catch basins and drainage facilities as may be necessary; and whereas it
duly appears that such petition has been duly signed by the owners of real
estate owning at least one-half of the entire frontage or bounds on both sides
of said highways situate between the points aforesaid and whereas it duly
appears that such petition was also duly signed by resident owners owning
not less than one-half of the frontage owned by resident owners residing in
or along such highways; and whereas such petition was duly acknowledged

or proved by all the signers thereof in the same manner as a deed to be
recorded; and whereas the maximum amount proposed to be expended for
the improvement of said highways as stated in the petition is the sum of
$10,500.00, it is, pursuant to the provisions of said Section 200 of the
Town Law of the State of New York, hereby
ORDERED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County
New York, shall meet at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport,
in said Town on the;;1'3-v1 day of?7? 7 ' 1972, at;J:,J.lo'clock in
the afternoon of that day, for the purpose of considering the said petition
and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning the same.

Laying out of certain town highways in the Town of
Southold, County of Suffolk and State of New York,
known as LONGVIEW LANE, RAMBLER ROAD,
PLEASANT PLACE and WATERSEDGE WAY.

UPON READING AND FILING the application of Helen G. Cochran
dated and acknowledged ~ :l if> , 1972, and the dedication and release
of Helen G. Cochran dedicating and releasing the necessary lands for
proposed town highways to extend from Main Bay View Road through the lands
of the said Helen G. Cochran.
RESOLVED, that, in accordance with the provisions of Section 171 of
the Highway Law of the State of New York, consent be and the same hereby
is given that the Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold
make an order laying out the aforesaid town highways, the said town highways
to consist of the lands described in the said dedication and release and to
extend as delineated upon the map thereto annexed, and it is further
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to
forthwith cause such release to be recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the
County of Suffolk and, upon its return, to attach it hereto.

hearing duly called and held for

called "Town"), in the County of
Suffolk, New York, by the
permanent pavement of the same
and the construction of such
curbs, gutters, catch basins and
drainage facilities as may be
necessary, at an estimated
maximum cost of $10,500.00, the
Town Board of the Town
determined pursuant to
resolution duly adopted on June
6, 1972, that the notice of such
hearing was published and posted
as required by law and is
otherwise sufficient and that it is
in the public interest to make the
Improvement pursuant to the
definite plans, specifications and
estimate of cost to be prepared by
the Town Engineer;
now therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE TOWN
BOARD OF THE TOWN OF
SOUTHOLD IN THE COUNTY
OF SUFFOLK, NEW YORK (by
the favorable vote of not less than
two,thirds of all the members of
said Board), AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Town hereby
appropriates the amount of
$10,500.00 for the permanent
pavement of Longview Lane,
Rambler Road, Pleasant Place
and Watersedge Way and the
construction of such curbs,
gutters, catch basins, and
drainage facUities as may be
necessary on and along the Town
Highways in the Town, all in
accordance with the map, plan
and specifications and estimate
of cost prepared by the Town
Engineer, hereinabove referred
to in the Recitals hereof, and
hereby approved. The estimated
maximum cost of said specific
object or purpose, including
preliminary costs and costs
incidental thereto and the
financing thereof, is $10,500.00
and the plan of financing includes
the issuance of serial bonds of the
Town in the principal amount of
$10,500.00 and the assessment,
levy and collection of
assessments from the several
Jots and parcels of land which the
Town Board shall deem
especially benefited thereby to
pay the principal of said bonds
and the interest thereon so much
upon and from each as shall be in
just proportion to the .amount of
benefit which the Improvement
shall confer upon the~~me.

Town are hereby authorized to be
issued in the principal affioWlt of
$10,500.00 pursuant to the
provisions of the Local Finance
Law, constituting Chapter 33-a of
the Consolidated Laws of the
State of New York (herein called

drainage facilities as may be
necessary on and along the Town
Highways in the Town, all in
accordance with the map, plan
and specifications and estimate
of cost prepared by the Town
Engineer, hereinaoove referred
to in the Recitals hereof, and

maximum cost of said specific
object or purpose, including
preliminary costs and costs
incidental thereto and the
financing thereof, is $10,500.00
and the plan of financing includes
the issuance of serial bonds of the
Town in the principal amount of
$10,500.00 and the assessment,
levy and collection of
assessments from the several
lots and parcels of land which the
Town Board shaH deem
especially benefited thereby to
pay the principal of said bonds
and the interest thereon so much
upon and from each as shall be in
just proportion to the .amount of

appropriation, serial bonds of the
Town are hereby authorized to be
issued in the principal amount of
$10,500.00 pursuant to the
provisions of the Local Finance
Law, constituting Chapter 33-a of
the Consolidated Laws of the
State of New York (herein called
"Law").
Section 3. The period of
probable usefulness of the
specific object or purpose for
which the bonds authorized
pursuant to this resolution are to
be issued, within the limitations
of Section l1.00a. 20. of lhe Law,
is five (5) years.

resolution, or any bond
anticipation notes issued in
anticipation thereof, pursuant to
the provisions of Section 107.00 of
the Law.
(B) The proposed maturily of
the bonds authorized pursuant to

five (5) years.
Section 4. Each of the bonds
authorized 'pursuant to this
resolution, and any notes issued
in anticipation thereof, shall
contain the recital of validity
prescribed by , 52.00 of the Law
and said bonds and any notes
issued in anticipation of said
bonds shall be general
obligations of the Town, payable
as to both principal and interest
by general tax upon all the
taxable real property within the
Town without limitation of rate or
amOlUlt. The faith and credit of
the Town are hereby irrevocably
pledged to the punctual payment
of the principal of and interest on
said bonds and provision shall be
made annually in the budget of
the Town by appropriation for (a)
the amortization and redemption
of the bonds to mature in such
year and (b) the payment of
interest fo be due and payable in
such year.

Dear Albert:
I enclose herewith eight certified copies of the order for a meeting to consider
the petition for street improvements relative to the Terry Waters Road Improve-
ment District.
Under the provisions of Section 200 of the Town Law, copies of this order should
be publighed; posted on the Town Clerk's bulletin board; and also posted conspillu-
ously in five public places along the streets in Terry Waters. Posting and
publication must be done not less than ten nor more than twenty days before the
hearing scheduled for May 23, 1972. Accordingly, you should transmit copies of
this order to the newspa~to be published once in their editions of May 11,
1972. On May 11, 1972, you should post another copy on the Town Clerk's bulletin
board and on that same day, i. e. May 11, 1972, you should conspicuously post
five additional copies along the streets of Terry Waters.

posting was done along the streets and we will prepare the necessary affidavits
of posting for your execution.
If you have any questions with respect to this, will you please call me.

PETITION FOR STREET IMPROVEMENT
TO THE TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NEW YORK:
We, the undersigned, being the owners of real estate fronting or
abutting upon either side of the public roads situate in the said town, known
as Longview Lane, Rambler Road, Rambler Spur upon which Lots 16, 17,
18 and 19 front, Watersedge Way and Pleasant Place, set forth in the Map of
Terry Waters, filed in the Office of the Clerk of Suffolk County on the 29th
day of December, 1958 as Map No. 2901, do hereby, pursuant to Section 200
of the Town Law of the state of New York respectfully request and petition
that you, the said Town Board, shall improve the aforesaid roads situate in
Terry Waters, as contained in the Map of Terry Waters aforesaid, a copy
of which is attached hereto, by permanent paving thereof and by providing
gutters and catch basins in drainage areas, and pipes for necessary and
proper drainage.
It is respectfully requested and petitioned that said improvements
shall be made in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the
Town of Southold.
The maximum amount proposed for the improvement aforesaid to be
expended is the sum of Ten Thousand Five Hundred ($10, 500.00) Dollars.
It is proposed that the expense of constructing such improvement shall be
borne by local assessments upon the several lots and parcels of land
especially benefited thereby as more fully provided by the statutes applying
in such cases.
The undersigned signers of this petition "tonstitute owners of real
estate as aforesaid owning at least one-half (1/2) of the entire frontage
or bounds on both sides of that portion of said roads to be improved as
aforesaid and also constitute resident owners owning not less than one-half
(1/2) of the frontage owned by resident owners residing along such portion of

reside at the places and own the number of frontage feet along said roads
set after their respective signatures.
WHEREFORE, your petitioners pray that you, the said Town Board
of the Town of Southold, proceed as provided by said Section 200 of the

l,,Jatersedge Way and Pleasant PIGce, set fot'th in the Map of
Terry Waters, filed in the Office of the Clerk of Suffolk
County on the 29th day of December, 1958 as Map No. 2901,
do hereby, pursuant to Section 200 of the Town Law of the
State of New York respectfully request and petition that you,
the said Town Board, shall improve the aforesaid roads
si tuate in Terry l,vaters, as contained in the Map of Terry
Waters aforesaid, a copy of which is attached hereto, by
permanent paving thereof and by providing gutters and catch
basins in drainage areas, and pipes for necessary and proper
drainage.
It is respectfully requested and petitioned that said
improvements shall be made in accordance with the specifica-
tions and requirements of the frOWn of ,Southold.
The maximum aJ'1ount proposed for the improvement afore-
said to be expended is the sum of Ten Thousand Five Hundred
('.nO,500.00) Dollars. It is proposed that the expense of
constructing such imnrovement shall be borne by local
8ssessments upon the several lots on.d peTcels of land
especially benefited thereby as more fully provided by the
statutes applying in such cases.
The undersigned signers of this petition constitute

improvement hereby petitioned for may be duly authorized
and completed.
