Tollefsen - Guest Speaker Lauren Standish, Secretary Absent was: Joyce Grigonis, Member CALL TO ORDER Chairman Don Wilder called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM. GUEST SPEAKER Roger C. Tollefsen, President of the Shinnecock Canal Maritime Heritage Center, attended the meeting as a Guest Speaker to talk about best management practices for the bay. He presented the council was a very informative view on the challenges on what's best for the bay with regard to shellfish. His mission is to construct and operate an Interpretative Center focusing on the maritime history of the east end at Shinnecock Canal Park. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Moved by James Eckert, seconded by Peter Young, to Approve the Minutes of November 8,2006 2 DISCUSSION AND RECOMMENDATION OF WETLAND PERMIT & COASTAL EROSION PERMIT APPLICATIONS Moved by James Eckert, seconded by Peter Young, it was RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of PHYLLIS SCHAFFER to construct a 4' wide set of stairs up to a 4'X 23' fixed catwalk with a seasonal 32"X 12' wooden ramp onto a seasonal 6'X 20' floating dock, and remove remains of old existing dock. Located: 1725 Smith Dr. North, Southold. SCTM#76-3-1 Inspected by: James Eckert, Peter Young The CAC Supports the application with the Condition of a 20' non-turf buffer. Vote of Council: Ayes: All Motion Carried Moved by James Eckert, seconded by Peter Young, it was RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of JACK DASILVA to construct a two-story 3500 sf. single-family dwelling. Vote of Council: Ayes: All Motion Carried Moved by James Eckert, seconded by Peter Young, it was RESOLVED to SUPPORT the Wetland Permit application of FRED POLLERT to construct 170' of new bulkhead immediately in front of existing bulkhead. Replace 12' west return in-place. Fill void between old and new sheathing with approx. 21 cy. of trucked-in sand. Located: 375 Lighthouse Lane, Southold. Backfill void between old and new bulkhead with approx. 22 cy. of fill. Remove existing stairway and replace in-like, in-place. Located: 680 South Lane, East Marion. Construct a l' high berm with 3: 1 side slopes at the base of the lawn where presently mulch area exists between the natural buffer and the sod, and restore three gullies on the face of the bluff, fill seed, and plant with three plantlets every 12" - 18" apart in a grid pattern. SCTM#119-1-3 Inspected by: Don Wilder, Jack McGreevy The CAC Tables the application and requests a detailed erosion control plan as well as a detailed plan on the actual repair. There also appears to be a problem with restricted passage of wildlife.
