HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/04/2006 TOWN OF SOUTHOLD ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES May 4, 2006 4:00 p.m. Town Hall Conference Room Present were: Chairman Sanford Hanauer, members Herbert Ernest, Ronald McGreevy, Howard Meinke, Nicholas Planamento and Ural Talgat, Senior Site Plan Reviewer Bruno Semon, Senior Planner Amy Ford, ARC Secretary Linda Randolph, and project representatives. The following correction was made to the minutes of the March 1, 2006 meeting “attendees: add Ronald McGreevy, delete Howard Meinke” Revisited Applications: East Marion FD Telecom project SCTM: 1000-31-3-11.31 New location approved. The suggestion was made to add street trees on the east side of the property along NYS Route 25. Osprey’s Dominion Conservatory SCTM: 1000-75-1-20.1 Approved as revised. Recommended: 75W duranodic bronze louvered guard lighting 8” sq. x 11-1/2” high extended 3-1/2”. Duck Walk Vineyards SCTM: 1000-75-2-2.6 Reviewed and approved revised site plan. Recommended: Lighting only during open hours and for special functions; perimeter parking lights on a separate circuit; submit 2 front light and chandelier cuts; upgrade hedge spacing from 4’ to 3’. Malon Industries SCTM: 1000-97-5-4.5 Reviewed plans detailing window elevation; approved subject to signage and additional light cuts: maximum height from grade not to exceed 6’ to the top of the sign. Mullen Motors SCTM: 1000-62-3-22.5 Tabled, subject to receipt of elevations, catalog cuts of garage doors (barn style). Recommended: consider addition of windows, tie materials in with those of Colonial Village. Requested light cuts, wattage, samples, and interior building section showing a lift with vehicle. RWM Enterprises (aka Colonial Corners) SCTM: 1000-62-3-22.1 Approved as submitted. ARC Meeting Minutes Page Two May 4, 2006 New Applications: FHV LLC/North Fork Custom Audio & Video SCTM: 1000-125-1-19.7 Approved as submitted. 13235 Main Road Corporation SCTM: 1000-140-3-37 Recommended: Colonial panels under windows or 8’ windows, window flowerboxes along access path/front area; submit lighting, signage, colors, material samples. Applicant will submit new plans. M&R Developing SCTM: 1000-96-1-1.8 (Previously approved lot part of Tide Group Subdivision) Recommended: Coordinate/match color of roof, parking light fixtures and signage to North Fork Self Storage for uniformity of details. Addition of windows, awning, reverse gabling on front, barn-type features. Gable roof structure along road side; elevation should be hipped roof structure. Add two maple trees near retaining wall on west side of property. Possible screening of dumpster. Montauk Bus Company SCTM: 1000-96-1-1.2 Recommended: Taller cedar trees. Four sugar maples 40’ on center closer to parking area on west side of parcel; more definition and detail in elevations. Suggested: addition of cupolas. Same comments as M&R. Sheren Medical Building SCTM: 1000-55-5-10 Approved, with the following recommendations: a different street tree in front on CR48, possibly an oak species. Change arborvitae to cedar trees. Concern regarding backup. Round curbing along parking areas. Any plumbing vents should be along left side on the east side of building. The Meeting Secretary will look into availability of larger room for next meeting and will prepare and circulate monthly meeting dates for the rest of 2006.
