Every building permit shall expire if the work authorized has not commenced within 12 months after the date of issuance or has not been completed within 18 months from such date. If no zoning amendments or other regulations affecting the property have been enacted in the interim, the Building Inspector may authorize, in writing, the extension of the permit for an addition six months. Thereafter, a new permit shall be required. October 2, 2006 --__I Project: Dunhumber Bam (Permit No. 30590Z) 43385 Main Road Peconic, N.Y. 11958 Dear Mr. Gillen: An inspection of repair work was conducted at the above referenced project on Wednesday, September 6, 2006. The repairs that have been made are shown on the enclosed photographs and outlined below. Poured concrete haunch footing and exterior frame wall on the far east side of the barn. Recommendation to install 4" by 4" steel L-brackets @ 2'-0" max. bolted to 2"x 6" ledger board and top of concrete haunch footing. (See Photo No.1, No.2, & No.3) Framing of exterior door on far north wall. Recommendation to install (2) 2" x 6" header above door. (See Photo No.4) Poured concrete haunch footing on center east wall. Verification of size and depth of haunch footing. (See Photo No.5) South wail of east aaraae Recommendation to install 4" by 4" steel L-bracket bolted to bottom ledger and top of concrete haunch footing (See Photo NO.6 & No. 7) Roof rafters on east side of barn. Recommendation to install joist hangars on 2" x 8" roof rafters and ledger board bolted to wall studs for additional support at end of roof rafters. (See Photo No.8) It is my professional opinion that the repairs made to the existing structure are structurally adequate and in substantial compliance with the Residential Code of New York State.
