Dear Henry:
Mr. Harold Reese met with the Highway Superintendent, the
Town Attorney and myself on June 9th relative to obtaining
a building permit for lot#l. Sect. I of Harbor Lights.
Mr. Dean and I recommend approval of a 15' wide ~halt
access road from the easterly portion of the existing
paved area of Schooner Drive to lot#l. Mr. Dean will
confirm this by seperate letter. The Town Board has
previously reviewed this road end area and was prepared
to accept that road without the 100' turnaround.
,
It is also suggested that if the above is agreeable with
you that the owner of lot #1 be required to submit a letter
to you and the Building Department that he understands a
certificate of occuppancy will not be issued until the
access road is approved.

Dear Ms. Terry:
The Planning Board is in receipt of your letter in which you
request the board to review the map of Harbor Lights, Section I
with particular attention to Schooner Drive which has not been
extended to the area marked 'ditch' on the map. The question is
whether the Planning Board will still require the turnaround on
Lot 1.
The following action was taken at the regular meeting of
December 15, 1980.
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Planning Board recommend
construction of the turnaround as shown on the map of Harbor
Lights, Section I as Schooner Drive for the following reasons:
(1) It gives access to Lots laand 2. (2) It provides greater
parking area for the proposed marine facility as indicated on
the approved map.

Attached is a portion of the map of Harbor Lights Estates, Section
I showing Schooner Drive.
It has been brought to our attention by Mr. Harold Reese that the
$25,000.00 bond for roads and improvements was never released, although
dedication of all of the highways (with the exception of Schooner)
was accepted.
Please inspect Schooner Drive to determine whether at the time of
dedication, February 8, 1974, this road met the Highway Specifications.
If so, please prepare a report prior to November 28th so a resolution
releasing the bond can be placed on the December 2nd agenda.
