Please refer to the Planning Board's June 28, 1991 letter, a copy of which I've enclosed, for a list of what remains to be completed before the Town will accept the roads. In response to your concerns about delays in receiving permits from LILCO to install the street lights, Raymond Jacobs, the Town's Highway Superintendent, has recommended that upon completion of all other work, the Town accept the roads with the condition that a surety be presented for the installation of the street lights and the direct burial cable. Accordingly, please present a bankbook in the amount of 3,000 dollars, payable only to the Town of Southold, for acceptance by the Town Board, as a surety for the installation of these items. In addition, the street lights must be installed within six (6) months of the Town Board's acceptance of the bankbook. At such time that items numbered 1, 3 and 4 of the Planning Board's June 28th correspondence are completed, and the Town Board accepts the bankbook, the Town will accept the roads for dedication. . . Please contact this office if you have any questions regarding the above. Very truly yours, ~&~~ ~ Bennett Orlowski, Jrr';""j" Chairman enc. cc: Raymond Jacobs, Highway Superintendent James A. According to Mr. Richter, the following items must be completed before the Town will accept dedication of the roads. 1. You must request that the Southold Fire Department send a letter to the Planning Board approving the five fire hydrants located in the subdivision. 2. Street lights must be installed at the following locations: A. The intersection of Lisa Drive and Boisseau Avenue; B. The intersection of Tuthill Road and Yennecott Drive. 3. The recharge basin must be regraded to remove all ruts caused by erosion. The access road down to the bottom of the basin also must be formed and graded. When the final grades have been established, the area must be seeded and protected to prevent future erosion from occurring. In addition, all plants as shown on the approved plans must be installed. 4. You must submit certification from your surveyor that the concrete survey monuments have been installed. ei e( ? CHAIRMAN - PLANNING BOARD TOWN HALL, 53095 MAIN ROAD SOUTHOLD, NEW YORK 11971 RE: DBM AFFORDABLE HOUSING - (MAJOR SUBDIVISION) HIGH POINT II @ SOUTHOLD SCTM U 1000-55-06-15.1 Dear Mr. Orlowski: The above referenced subdivision is nearing completion. I have reviewed the Bond Estimate as well as the previous inspection reports from Sidney B. Bown's Office and conducted an on site investigation to ascertain the amount of work that still remains to be completed. My comments are as follows: 1. FIRE HYDRANTS - Have the 5 fire hydrants, as installed, been inspected, tested & approved by the local Fire Department. 2. STREET LIGHTS - To date, None have been provided. I have also seen conflicting bond estimates that indicate either 2 or 4 are required. Please verify the quantity and location as required by the Planning Board. 3. RECHARGE BASIN - A considerable amount of landscaping work remains to be done within this area. The Basin needs to be regraded to remove all ruts caused by errosion. The access road down to the bottom of the Basin also needs to be formed and graded. When final grades have been established, the area will need to be seeded and protected to prevent future errosion from occuring. Also, the Plants that were called for in the approved plans have not been planted. The Fencing as installed without the concrete curbs is acceptable. The concrete curbing has been omited at the request of the Superintendant of Highways, Mr. Raymond L. Jacobs. 4. CONCRETE SURVEY MONUMENTS - A total of 16 were required. I have not found any certification concerning the placement of this Item. If you have any questions concerning this matter, Please do not hesitate to contact my office. "c.<~~ cc: Raymond L.
