Dear Mr. Tohill:
The following action was taken by th eSouthold Town Planning
Board, Monday, March 24, 1986.
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Planning Board refer the
following recommendation to the Board of Appeals regarding the
set-off proposal for Katherine and William Heins located at
Orient:
The Board is opposed to this proposal to set-off 18,984
square feet from 48,839 square feet, and recommends that
the premises remain as one lot. However, if evidence
is found, upon review by the Board of Appeals, to substantiate
granting of a variance, the Board requests that the proposed
lot line be relocated to provide for an even split of the
property.

My client has inquired with respect to a likely calendar
date with respect to the captioned matter and in stopping in at
Town Hall had been advised by someone there that the matter is
not even a filed application. You and I have corresponded on
this application on January 10, January 16, and February 6 of
this year. The application should be acknowledged as filed subject
only to a calendar date.
Could you advise, first, whether the file is intact
and complete and, second, when it may likely be coming up on the
Planning Board calendar. I don't need an exact date but merely
an estimate.
