BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE
FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT

Ip accordance with SectIon 10 of a Special Act of the New
York State Legislat\lre (Laws of N.Y., 1947, Chapter 699)
creating the Fishers Island Ferry District, a public hear-
ing on estimated revenues and expenditures for the ftscal
period January 1, 1981 through December 31, 1981 was held
at 7:00 p.m., A\lgust 15, 1980 at the Fishers Island School,
Fishers Island, New York. Present at the hearing were
Commissioners Raymond F. Doyen, Richard S. Baker, John C.
Evaps, Reynolds dupont Jr. and Raymond W. Edwards Jr. .
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the Chair-
manof the Board of Commissioners, Raymond F. Doyen. Mr.
Doyen gave an initial explapation of the purpose of the
meeting - that the proposed budget for the fiscal year 1981
was to be made public at this time; that only items re-
lating to the budget were to be discussed from the floor
duripg the formal proceedings; that the final decision
for acceptance of the budget rests with the BOard of COm-
missioners; that upon conclusion of the formal proceedings
the meeting would be opened for general discussiop of items
relating to the operation of the Ferry District.
The operating budget for the fiscal period as specifi~d in
paragraph 1 above was read line bY line, including breakd9Wns
of certai.n categories, by the Secretary. Time was allowed
for questions and discussion from the floor on all.items
presented therein. At the end of the read; Pg, there bei.ng
no objections to the budget as presented, the Chairman, Com-
missioner Doyen, stated that he would entertain a motion
that the budget be accepted. A motion to accept the budget,
as presented, by Commi ssi oner Evans and seconded by Comm"..-
sioner duPont was adopted by the unanimous vote of the ~d
of Commissioners as follows:

'fhe following motion was introduced by Commissioner Evans
and seconded by Commissioner Baker: The Board of Commis-
sioners wishes to express it gratitude and that of the
community to Raymond F. Doyen for the contributions he has
made during his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Commts-
sioners. The motion was passed by the unanimous affirmative
vote of those Board members voting as follows:

Upon completion of the formaliMes concerning the bUdget and
other business matters, an l.nformal dlscussion and questi.on
and answer session was conducted with those persons present.
Due to the limited attendance (7 persons) the only matter
dIscussed was that of a later trip on Sunday eveni.ngs to ~e
regularly SCheduled in 1981.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
