A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called
by the Chai.rman at. 3:3Q p.m. in the. offlce..of the. FerryDb~
trict. Present were Commissioners duPont, Doyen, Baker, ~d
Edwards. Absent Commissioner Evans. Also present were Mr.
Thomas Kelly, Chairman of the New London Redevelopment Agency,
Mr. Philip Handelman, a prospective developer for downtown
N~ London, and Mr. JJee Skolnick, architect for Mr. Hand.l~n.
Mr. Handelman presented sketches of a proposed redevelOPment
of the New London waterfront which would encompass land and
. riparian rights presently controlled by the Fishers Island
Ferry District (Town of S01.ltholdl. The proposal was to re~ .
locate the Ferry District terminal in New London to the North
side of the New London C1ty pier. It was the concensus of the
Commissioners that they WOuld be amenable to a trade of ptope;ty
provided we WOuld haVe facilities at least equal to those we
presently occupy. No firm commitments were made to the devel-
Oper or to the. Redevelopment Agency.
Meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
