RECEIVEJ) APR 3 1981 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF '!'HE FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT March 5, 1981 IQWJ\ CI~[k Soulhilld ~ f'o r.r;; -' A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District was called by the Chairman at 1:00 p.m. in the office of the Ferry District. Present were Commissioners duPont, Doyen, Baker, and Edwards. Ab- sent Commissioner Evans. The outstanding obligations of the Fishers Island Ferry District in the amount of $27,742.71, $1,484.64 of which is encumbered from the 1980 budget, as represented by vouchers 49 through 77 inclusive were read by the Secretary. A motion was made by Commissioner Baker and seconded by Commissioner Edwards that the outstanding obligations of the Ferry District be paid. Motion was carried unanimously. ......... - The following resolution was passed in anticipation of the need for a reservation clerk, part-time, for the 1981 year. WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners require the services of a Reservation Clerk for making reservations for automobiles leaving Fishers Island And WHEREAS Evelyn Clarke has applied for this position THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Evelyn Clarke be engaged as a Reservation Clerk for automobiles to be compensated at a rate of $4.00 per hour on an average annual basis of less than 15 hours per week commencing April 10, 1981. Ayes: Commissioners duPont, Doyen, Baker, Edwards. Nays: None. In other business, a new policy for allowing removal of beach stone from property under jurisdiction of the Ferry District was discussed and formulated. A notice will be posted and all contractors sent a copy. The manager was directed to contact the island contractors with a view toward having two coats of silicon weather proof- ing applied to the exterior walls of the state Police House (Building 239). The request from the Chief of the F. I. Fire Department to have a simulated car fire aboard MUNNATAWKET was discussed. There being no objections, it was agreed that the manager and the Chairman would work out the matter with the con- tract operator. The intent is to have a drill for the F. r.
