FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT

A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Fish-
ers Island Ferry District was called by the Chairman at 2:00
p.m. for the purpose of receiving and opening bids for dry-
docking M/V MUNNATAWKET. Three bids were received, opened,
and their contents read aloud by the Secretary_ After com-
parison of the bids with respect to the published specifica-
tions, the following resolution was passed:

WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners has advertised for bids
for drydocking M/V MUNNATAWKET

And WHEREAS bids were received and opened at 2:00 p.m., March
3, 19B1 in the office of the Fishers Island Ferry District as
follows:
Thames Shipyard & Repair Co., P. O. Box 791, New London, CT
$ 6,366.00 for work to be accomplished plus
35.00 ea. for sacrificial anodes (zincs) plus
1,100 for supplemental item D. - -
Hitchcock Gas Engine Co., 40 California st., ~~eport, CT
$11,730.00 for work to be accomplished plus
47.00 ea. for sacrificial anodes plus
no bid for supplemental item D.
D. N. Kelley & Son, Inc., P. O. Box 191, Fairhaven, MA
$11,200.00 for work to be accomplished plus
33.75 ea. for sacrificial anodes plus
1,250.00 for supplemental item D.
And WHEREAS comparison of the three bids has determined that
Thames Shipyard & Repair Co. is the apparent low bidder
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners have
determined that Tha~es Shipyard & Repair Co. be awarded the
contract per its bid of $6,366.00 plus $35.00 ea. for sacri-
ficial anodes plus accomplishment of supplemental item D.
<Sandblast and tarset open area of vessel's freight deck
(approximately 1000 sq. ft.)) .
And BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners
desire to accomplish the following supplemental work depend-
ing upon conditions found at time of drydocking:

A. Inspect and renew, if required, strut bearings

B. Pull both shafts for inspection and gauging
$850.00 ea.
C. Platework
$ l8.00/hr. plus .30/lb.
And BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town
of South old approve the action of the Board of Commissioners
and grant the Board of Commissioners authority to enter into
said contract.
