A special meet~n'l of the Boat"d of Commissioners of the Fi$h~ ,
ers Island Ferry Distdct was~al1ed by the Chairman at 1:00 ".
p.m. in the office of the Ferry District. P~esent were com-
missioners duPont, Doyen, and Baker. Absent Commissioner Ev- .
ans. The outstanding obligations of the Ferry District were
read by the Secretary. At the conclusion of the reading and
discussion thereof, the following resolution was duly adopted
by the Board of Commissioners:
Moved by Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Doyen,
WHEREAS the Piahers Island Ferry District has incurl;"ed
outstanding obligations of $50,559.54 as represented by voucr_
el;"S 136 through 166 inclusive and Capital Project vouchers"
9 and 10; and
WHEREAS these obligations are due and payable
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the TOWn
of Southold authorize payment of said obligations.
Vote of the Board of Commissioners: Ayes: Commissioner du-
Pont, Commissioner Doyen, Commissioner Ba~er. Nays: None.
In nther matters of business, three resolutions were
passed~

WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners Wishes to tt"ansfet"

WHEREAS l;"ecent compression tests of M/V OLINDA port en-
gine has revealed that the readings for several cylinders
at"e well below acceptable limits and indicate the need fOr
the engine to be torn down and rebuilt; and
WHEREAS M/V OLINDA requires the services of both main
engines for optimum performance and safe navigation of the
vessel; and

WHEREAS M/V OLINDA is needed to be in optimum running
condition in order for t~ejF,ishers IsLand Ferry District to
satisfactorily perform its functions during the period from
mid~June through Labor Day; and
WHEREAS Thames Shipyard and Repair Co. of New London, Conn.
is available to make timely and expeditious repairs at an es-' ,
timated cost of $8,000.00 to $9,000.00.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Commissioners
declares that emergency repairs are required for purposes of
safety and satisfactory performance of functions; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Board of Commissioners
requests the concurrence Of the Town Board of the Town of
Southold in its declaration of necessary emergency repairs
and making Of said repairs by Thames Shipyard and Repair co.
of New London, Conn.

Moved by commissioner Baker, Seconded by Commissioner duPont,
WHEREAS the ~ishers Island Ferry District operates a
movie theater during the summer months; and
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners wishes to operate a
theaterqommencing on or about July 1, 1982 and also wishes
to engage the Services Of competent personnel; and
WHEREAS increased fares are required to meet increased
operating costs
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following persons be
engaged effective July 1, 1982:
Edwin HOrning - CaShier
J. B. Hartsfield - Projectionist
Charles Stepaned - Clerk
$150.00/week
35.00/shoW
80.00/week
, And BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the admission price fOr
all tickets be increased by 25~ per ticket effective with the
commencement of the 1982 theater season.
