A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the FisO~
ers Island Ferry District was called by the Chairman at 1:15
p.m. in the office of the Ferry District. Present were Com-
missioners duPont, Doyen and Baker. Absent Commissioner Ev-
ans. The outstanding obligations of the Ferry District were
read by the Secretary. At the conclusion of the reading and
diScussion thereof, the following resolution was duly a~o~ted
by the Board of Commissioners:
Moved by Commissioner Baker, Seconded by Commissioner Doyen,

WHEREAS ~he Fishers Island Ferry District has incurred
o~ts~anding obligations of $28,741.93 as represented by
vouchers 102 through 134 inclu~ive and Capital Project vouch-
ers 6, 7, and 8; and
WHEREAS these obligations are due and payable
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town
of soutO,old authorize .payment of said obligations.
Vote of the Board of CommissionerS: Ayes: Commissioner du.

Xn other matters of business, two resolutions were passed:
Moved by Commissioner duPont, seconded by Commissioner Baker,
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners wishes to ~ransfer
f~nds wi~hin the 1982 budget
THEREFORE Bl!: IT RESOLVl!:D that the following transfer be
made:
Vote of the Board of Commissioners: Ayes: Commissioner du-
Pont, Commissioner Doyen, Commissioner Baker. Nays: None.
Absent: Commissioner Evans.

WHEREAS the work to be performed by the successful bid-
der is of sufficient complexity that it is felt that the Pis~
trict should engage the services of an individual with co~~
siderable experience in dock building; and
WHEREAS Mr. John Applet of Orient, New York has the re-
quisite qualifications and is available to perform the need-
ed se'rvices

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVEP that the Fishers Island Ferry
District engage the services of Mr. Appelt as its consultant
and on-site inspector, such services to be periodic in na-
ture and subject to reimbursement at a rate of $pQ.OO per
day at the site plus transportation expenses between Orient,
New York and Fishers Island, New York; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town
of Southold approve the action of the Board of Commissioners
and authorize the Boars of Commissioners to engage the ser~
vices of Mr. Appelt.

Other matters discussed included the Capital Project
pid opening which will take place on May 4, 1982 and the
meeting to select the successful bidder which will take
place on May 10, 1982.
The matter of amending the commodity tariff was discuss~
ed with respect to the rate for bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles,
and firewood. No definite decision was reached as concerns
new rates in each category.

The matter of appointing a Commissioner was discussed.
It was felt that the matter could not be resolved among \he
members present. It was decided' to wait until an preserlt.
bQ~rd members could meet together to decide upon a candida\e
to, recommend to the Town Board.
