DOYEN RICHARD V. f'OYLE STE....HEN MDh!E:Ll MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRISr AUG. 8, 1971 A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called by the Chairaan ~ 8, 1971 and held lQ~the office of the ferry district at 9:00 A.M. .....nt were Coamissioners Baldwin, Edmonds, Moaell,foYen and W.CJ Sinclair, Mgr.-Sec. Motion by Comm. Doyen and seconded by C~.'E~nds that vouchers ~143 through and including #177 inclusive in the .-o~t of $17,236.73 representing the outstanding obligations of the Ferry District for July 1971. Motion unani~us1y carried. The Board unani~us1y agreed that In..-uch as the contracting side of the F.I. utility Co. was going out of business that the work already accomplished at the theatre be paid and that the paintigg be put out for bid in the spring. The Board of C~ ~~ioners directed the Manager to arrange for the election of C~issioner on AUgJst 10, 1971 at the Fishers Island Fire House. the po~ing hours to be from 2 P.M. to 6:00 r.N. The Board appointed the ~Ollowing to act as tellers:; Mrs. Ripanti. Mrs. Valentini, and Mrs. Lucy Ahman. ~.e Board of Commissioners resolved that the hearing on the estiaated expenditures and revenujes for the period Jaauary 1, 1972 ~9h and including Dec.aber 31, 1972 inclusive would be held Thursday, August 19, 1971 at the Ferry District Theatre at 8:00 P.M. The Manager w.. directed to prepare the necessary notices and the notice for the newspaper. ~t was also resoived that no unnecessary discussion was to take place at this meeting. The Manag~ reported that he had received fro. McArthur Airpott a policy governing the touch and go landings at the a~rport. ~The Commission,rs set a policy which will be effective next year that would prohibit touch and go landings for the period June 15th through and including Sept. 15th. General discu5si~n then ensued on the Managar getting information toqet~er for the Supervisor for the Annual Town Meeting on Fisher~ Isfand on the 17~h. The Manager was directed to set the reservation schedule fOL the Labor Day week. Antqony J. Cabral was a~thorized to tr.st,ill the DE:W door" on the Mystic Isle. The Manager ...s authorized to ';et a ;-,rice on paving at the New London Dock for a sum not to exceed <. ') 00. The Board directed the Mana~er to purchase a new typewriter for the offi~e as per a quote of quality Business Machines in ~he ..,tax amount of $417.50.
