The Board of Commissioners authorizen the Manager to have Mr. Thomas
5croxton of Fi;shers Island, New YOrk clean the facilities of the Ferry
Terainal at Fishers Island one day a week @ $15. The Board of Commissioners
authorized the F.I. Elp.ctric Corporation to motor ize the l~rge doo~ at
the Fishers Island Fex;ry Terminal, Fishers Island Freight B()Use. The Board
of Commissioners accepted the offer of ~r. Bert Fisher. of ta..Riehle
Insurance Company to set up the Ferry District's insurance coverage
80 that the whole coverages could be put qut to bid at a given time.
OD behalf of the employees of the Fishers ~sland Ferry District the Board
of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District unanimously acc,,"pted
that agreement dated January 1, 1972 which the Town of Southold, called
the TOWN therein had with their employep.s, known as the Civil Service
Employees' Association Inc., Suffolk Chapter, Southold Town Unit, a memryership
Corporation of the State of New Yor< which organization is duly recognLzed
and accepted by the Board of Commissioners as the employee's organization
to represent them in all matters for negotiating collectively in the
determination of the terms and conditions of employrnpn~ for the ypar l~73.
Chairman Doyen stated that he had been contacted by the local uoccor Gallaher
who had requested permission to install a small T Type hangar at Elizabeth
Airport. Dr. ':;allaher who nas his own plane had informed Commissioner
Doyen that vandals had damaged his plane on one occasion whicn might nave
resulted in a serious accident. A hangar which he would nuild nimself
tIOu1d prevent a reoccurence of this type of vandalism. The Board dir"'cted
the Manager to contact the FAA for permission to construct subject 'o,'i:1gar
at Elizabeth Airport. j
