MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE
FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT
Jan. 8, 1973

A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called by the
Chairman and held in the office of the Fishers Island Ferry District
January 8, 1973 at 1:00 P.M.. Present were Commissioners Doyen,
Edmonds, M.orell, Baldwin and W. C. Sinclair, Mgr.-Sec.
Motion made by Commissioner Morell and seconded by Commissioner Edmonds
that vouchers #315 through #345 inclusive in the amount of $16,809.43
representing the outstanding obligations of the Ferry District for
December 1972 be paid. Motion unanimously carried.

General discussion ensued on ~airing a clerk for the office of the
Ferry District. T!"le Hanager stated that he has three applicants
who have applied. In view of tLis the Manager stated ne had contacted
the Suffolk County Civil Service Department relative as to the
requirements as to having the parties take examinations for this
position. In view of na.in~ Mrs. Robinson of Civil Service recommended
that the three parties take the test for same and stated that thi3
would determine their qualifications, al'titullea and ski.lls. General
discussion ensued on this. Commissioner Baldwin suggested that
the Manager look into the possibility of having the examinations
in the school rather then have the applicants. to to the expense
of going all the way to Riverhead for same. The Managaer was
directed to look into this.

Gaaeral discussion then ensued on the specifications for installing
new engines on the Mystic Isle and the specifications were amended
where necessary and the Manager was directed to adveEtise for same.
