MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE
FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT
Sept. 11, 1973
A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called by the Chairman
and held.in the office _of the Ferry District Sept. 10, 1973 at 7:80 P.M. Present
were Commissioners Doyen, Baldwin, Edmonds, and W. C. Sinclair, Mgr. Absent were
Commissioners Foyle and Morell. Motion by Commissioner Edmonds and seconded by
Commissioner Baldwin that Vouchers #235 through #279 inclusive in the amount of
$28,219.46 representing the outstanding obligation of the Ferry District for Aug.
1973 be paid. Motion unanimously carried. The Manager reported on the pre-trial
examination he had attended at Bayshore, New York, in the matter of Dean versus
Ferry District and the Town of Southold. Minutes of meetings held August i and
August 2", 1973 were read and approved as read. The minutes of the informal meeting
also held on August 2', .1973 were read and approved. General discussion ensued on
matters in general. The Manager spoke on insurance and the companies co.;eting
for quotations. He stated that Mr. Kernan wants a letter of authority to bind
Iftsurance Company of North America, General discussion ensued on insurance policies
General discussion ensued on Tariff changes. Commissioner Edmonds maqe a motion
which was seconded by Commissioner Baldwin that the District charge any trips of
either Ferry after 4:45 P.M. be classed as extra fare trips and users be charged
accordingly. The Manager was directed to contact the Guthrie Tariff Bureau for
action. A letter was read from Mr. Albert Gordon, Jr. relative to his car and
parties unknown who had tied his seat belts up. Motion made to adjourn and un-
