MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE
FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT
Sept. 25, 1973
A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called by the Chairman
and held in the office of the Ferry District Sept. 25, 1973 at 5:38 P.M.. Present
were CommissionersBaldwin, Edmonds, Doyen, Morell, Foyle, and W. C. Sinclair, Mgr.
Chairman'Doyen stated that ths Mystic Isle was delivered to the Thames Shipyard to
be repowered. The Current schedule was discussed. It was decided to run the
Olinda on all trips Saturday, then take these three trips and ap~ly them to the
Manitou for Fridays and Sundays. General discussion ensued on tariff charges.
Commissioner Baldwin said that when we go to the shipyard there can be no deviation
from the contract. No extras unless approved in writing by the Commissioners.
Chairman Doyen stated that Mr. Stedman is our liason man for the Fishers Island
Civic Association. Chairman Doyen stated that he had shown Mr. Stedman the pro-
posed increases in the tariff ,mcl that Hr. Stedman stated that it seemed a fair
and equitable increase. General discussion ensued on other rate increases.
Commissioner Bald',.rin thought in the fut'lP' ',"e should have a tariff consultant to
go over our nee,ls. Commissioner Baldwin sdid that nr. John Wronos;<.i would knm-r
of one.. He said that if you do get one, then the Board should go alanC] with his
recommendation. Commissioner Foyle stated that all the Contractors whould support
the District in th~ transportation of all their employes. He stated that the
District needs all the financial support it can 'Jet. General discussion ensued on
hauling the Myst~c Isle and the Olinda this fall. Motion made to adjourn and
unanimously carried at 6:45 P.N..
