MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE
FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT
Oct. 29, 1973
A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners was called by the Chairman
And held in the office of the Fishers Island Ferry District at 1;eO P.M.. Present
were Commissioners Doyen, Morell, Baldwin, Foyle, and W. C. Sinclair, Mgr-Sec..
The Manager explained the problem of the ~Iystic Isle relative to the starboard
shaft. Commissioner Baldwin then explained what had to be done. General dis-
cussion then ensued on specifications for hauling the MIV Olinda and the MIV
Mystic Isle. Motion by Commissioner Baldwin and seconded by Commissioner Foyle
that the Board of Commissioners accept the specifications as pre~ared by the
Manager for the hauling of the Mystic Isle, normal haulout and also to repair
the shaft and that permission be sought from the Town Board and also for adver-
tising for bids for same. Motion unanimously carried. Further discussion en-
sued on this and it was agreed that if the Mystic Isle shaft damage can be re-
paired-ie; not making a new shaft - then the Board of Commissioners recommended
that we go to bid for the haul out of the Olinda. If the Mystic Isle cannot be
repaired - i.e. - make a new shaft- then the Mystic Isle should go to bid for
haul out and doing all necessary maintenance work thereon. Motion made to
adjourn and unanimously carried at 2:20 P.M..
