A special meeting of the Board or Commissioners was called by the Chairman
and held in the office of the Ferry District April', 1'68 at 1:00 P.M.
Present were Commissioners Baldwin, Grebe, Doyen, Edmonda, W. C. Sinelair,
Mgr.-Sec. and Mr. Robert King of Montauk Carribean Airways. Gaaeral discussion
ensued on airport matters. Mr. Kin~ discussed the new floor at the airport.
He stated that the lip of the slab is rather high and it will be difficult to
get an airplane in the hanp'ar. General dis cuss i elTI ensued on new donrs for
the hangar. Chairman 0aldwin asked Mr. K'ng jf there would be any interest
in Building 8, _ Band Barracks airpo~t wise. He stated it would be suitable
for ataff residences. He would be interested in costs to renovate same. Comm.
Doyen suc>gested c ontactinp an architect to review this building and layout
what could be done. Cemm. Edmonds said the lecation is net adaptable to
residential use but in spite of thia the District has been apnroached by a
party who is intpre.ted in buyi~. Mr. King is to look at the Buil~n~ and
the land involved. He said... he will be at the airport the third week in
May to start his contract. He also manifested an interest in leasing the
Theatre He would increase the price of admissien to $1.25 adults and 75,
ror children. He questioned the change of film every night. Also the Board
discussed the pictures show. as to the quality. Ho atatod that ho ..uld pay
the depreciation in rent. Mr. King wants to research insurance costs, project-
ioniata, and tax factors. The Mana~~r mentinned mach'ne vending concessions
in the lobbv of the th",atre. General dlscussion alao ensued on possinle swnmer
stoak ahows. Ganeral discussion ensued on a fair rental for th~ theatre. Mr.
King mentinned 4% first year and 5% the folawing year. Co.m. Deven au~gested
5% of @;ross. General 'iacussion on equipment for the ai rport., Mr. .Kin~ then
left the meetin~. Chairman Baldwin au~gested contactlnp, Mr. Taaker to rule
on the validity of Mr. Gada's claim fer cement. General discussion ensued on
the Olinda contract regarding aFents and agents for other boat if so required.
Comm. Baldwin appointed Comm. DGyen and Cemm. Edmonda on the theatre committee
and Comm. Baldwin and Comm. Grebe on the parkin~ committee. General discussion
