In reply to your letter of November 15 with Preliminary
Map "Turtl~ Creek Development"~ east side Laurel avenue~
Southold, ~ew ~rk~ please be advised:
I have disoussed this pro~,osed map with Mr. Raymond
Dean~ Supt. of Hlghways~ and we make the following suggestions:
1. The entire development has to be "Cluster"or "Grid"
type. it can not he ~ ~ixture.
There should be 2 "East-West" reads off the ea~t side
Laurel avenuc-!~orth of L~,C~ hi-tension line. ~ny
dead e~ roads n~ust sho%~ a 100 ~,~ 100 tllrnaround. Part
nay be a reservation 2~' X 1OO' on e~ch side of 50~
road°
3. One road off <~i~t side Laurel Ave. between L.i.,H.~. and
t~-ten~;ion line should be enot~gh.
All proposed roads shall carry through to w_z~sterly
propert~y lines as they will event~tal~v be used for access
to other interior lands.
5. Development along the Creek shore front will be subject
to review by the State Envirox~ental Conservation Dept.~
Co=~ty Planning Co~ission~ Health Dept.: Sewer agency~
as well as Town Planning Board.
6. Installation of publio water mains may be required.
7. All o~crs should agree to the plan ~.e~ it ~s '~brmitted
to the Planning Board.
. The Town~..~ accepted any new type road other than re
~red in Highway Specification Booklet as of now. Some ex-
perimenting is under way at this time but it appears this will
not be accepted for several years-if at all.
