Fishers Island Community Center Research Committee
Tuesday, February 17th, 2004 at the Fishers Island School
Attending:
Jeanne Schultz
Karla Heath
Gail Cypherd
Nate Gray
Charlie Stepanek
Judi Imbriglio, Chair
Minutes:
Karla said that the ferry district would love to hear a proposal from the committee. They
are in the business of transportation not theater. The presentation should be as snazzy and
creative as possible.
Gail said that Paul Giles also stated the ferry would be interested in learning more.
Renovation costs may be prohibitive but we should prove it. Charlie noted that the ferry
district is more on board along with other 'big' organizations that are concerned about the
future of Fishers.
Jeanne would like to pursue trip to visit Watermans Community Center or any others.
Gail and Judi are also interested.
Nina has a list of residents and will provide a mailing list with address labels.
The group felt that the first survey should go to the year round community to determine if
there is a need and once that is determined, another survey will be sent to the seasonal
residents.
The group edited the survey and reviewed Judi's cover letter. The survey will be printed
by Karla on Wednesday, Gail will get the envelopes, and Nate will stuff envelopes on
Thursday from 3 to 4 PM with students at the School. Hopefully, the survey can be
mailed by Friday or Saturday with completed survey's mailed to Judi by Friday, March
5th.
Next meeting is on Thursday, March 11 th at 5:00 PM at the School.
