In attendance: Judi Imbroglio, Sara McLean, Gail Cyphard, Jeanne Schultz, Karla Heath, Sarah Moody, Charlie Stepanik, Mere Harr, John Spofford, Harold Cook and Bruce Kinlin on phone. I. Comments to Bruce -Jeanne Shultz: Jeanne wants to see the upstairs office and storage switch places and we will need electricity on that wall. Could Harold's space be more open to the bowling alley? Bruce said that the bowling alley barely fits lengthwise and opening the office would make it feel bigger. Could the 3 offices be program manager, IPP and Island Office? It was decided not to put plans in the Gazette. 2. Comments to Bruce -Judi Imbriglio Could we have some sort of terrace? That is a future idea Did bowling area allow for seating? Yes and no, the room in between can be seating. New theater on map makes her nervous. Lets not have that and the pool on plans right now, as they are future plans. 3. Comments to Bruce -Karla Heath She likes the 'design' looking plans best as opposed to the rectilinear plans. She likes the open feel of the space, upstairs in particular. Is the fitness center to large and will noise and smell drift everywhere? Bruce said there will be a door in the main wall and the palates area can have a sliding door if need be, this is a future problem. He likes not chopping up the building space with lots of walls. He will take our direction for the fitness room, but for now he will leave that area as is. Sara explained that her precedence was 1,500 sq. feet and they wished they had more space. 4. Comments to Bruce -John Spofford Are the two halves equals except for the stairs? Yes, the stair well throws it off. The distance learning area needs to look more like a theater/screening room, and the actual distance learning area will be in the present bowling alley. Make that room an Internet hub in the new plans. Keep bathrooms where they are and flip small meeting room. Bruce said ok. 5. Comments to Bruce -Sara McLean Is the wall between the large and small meeting room a door? No, but can be. The small meeting room can be used for a viewing room. She said the new-future theater is in the distance, but it is still important to consider conceptually. Bruce said he took the theater component out based on our conversations and thought we decided not to put it in our building. John reminded that a 'theater' could have several uses. Could the back half of Harold's space be a 'teen center', because people do consider this a high priority. Bruce said: the bowling alley gets the space at the end of the alleys at the end of the building for storage, which can be accessed from the outside too. Harold: Are there 2 access points upstairs for fire code? Bruce: we can do this from the outside on the Z&S side. Jeanne: How much can we say we are getting in pro bono services for the grant? BK, use the numbers he gave John. Harold: Can he go ahead without the C.C.? Maybe, we are checking. Comments to Bruce -Charlie Stepanik Feagle's path should be included in the campus plans and maybe a description of it. Bruce said he would do it as an arrow pointing to the path. Gail: is scared to have the pool and new theater ideas on paper in public right now. IPP is not interested in teaming up with the C.C. right now. She is disappointed in this decision. 501 <Gl 3 -John has talked with Win Rutherfurd about it and Mere has an application. Win said that you basically fill out the application, mail it to the IRS and they issue a number that you can use to fund raise with. They will then send you a letter of determination in 2/3 months. Now we can get pledges for the grant w/o the 501. This has to be a 'public charity' and John is getting the Waterman's example to use as a guide. Sara: Do we still need to be offering storage to IPP? Gail: We should be the bigger ones here and offer storage, but not an office space. Project names: Phoenix 98 -John's ideas FIDCO meeting Saturday @ 3:00. Mere will make a PowerPoint presentation as well as a simpler version for the FICA meeting that is at 4:00 Submitted by, Mere Harr, note woman
