MEETING OF AP'IiIIl. 24, 1979 .
Mr. Paul Stoutenburg~ommended the Board in us~ recycling at
thedisposal area and hope they might even consider going one step
further such as Brookhaven Town has done by using the leaves and
branches and mulching them up so the town people can use it.
Mr. William Shcriever, Orient, asked whether the Highway Committee
has decided whether the easement is satisfactory for the turn-around
in his subdivision approval?---Justice Suter stated that it meets
with what he discussed with Mr. Schriever's attorney and as soon as
Town Attorney Tasker approves it there will be no problem with them.
On motion of Councilman Pell, seconded by Councilman Howan, it was
RESOLVED, that a recess be called at 4:25 for the purpose of review-
ing the police telephone system.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes; Councilman Pell, Councilman Drum,
Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Superv isor Martocchia. Absent:
Justice Doyen.
This resolution was declared duly adopted.
Meeting reconvened at 4:45 P.M.
After considerable discussion relative to the proposed new telephone
system for Police Headquarters, the following resolution was adopted:
On motion of Councilman Drum, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was
RESOLVED, that Supervisor Albert ~1. Martocchia be and he hereby is
authorized to negotiate a proposal with the New York Telephone Co.
for the Horizon Communications System, Option III, 36 months, with-
out prepayment and submit same to the Town Attorney and Town Board
for review.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Pell, Councilman Drum,
Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Supervisor Martocchia. Absent:
Justice Doyen.
This resolution was declared duly adopted.
The Town Clerk was instructed to communicate with the park districts
that have call boxes at their beaches advising them that with the
replacement of the present police communication system the call hoxes
will be removed. If they wish call boxes they should contact the New
York Telephone Co. to make arrangements for them at their own expense.
These call boxes could be tied into the communication system as they
are at the present and be answered by~he police radio operators.
On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Pell, it was
RESOLVED that the Fishers Island utility Company is hereby author-
ized to install ten additional 175 W MV street lights on Fishers
Island at locations they deem necessary.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Councilman Pell, Councilman Drum,
Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Supervisor Martocchia. Absent:
Justice Doyen.
This resolution was declared duly adopted.
On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Pell, it was
RESOLVED, that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia be and he hereby
is authorized and directed to purchase clams for transplant in an
amount not to exceed $3,000.00 as per agreement with the New York
State Department of Environmental Conservation.

On motion of Councilman Pell, seconded by Justice Suter, it was

Town Board meeting adjournment be called at 5:35 P.M.
