25. Letter from the Town of Huntington transmitting a reso-
lution adopted by the Huntington Town Board opposing the proposed law
allowing the StateBoard of Equalization and Assessment to Remove
Town Assessors. This pertains to non-elective assessors.
On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED that the Board of Cmmmissioners of Fishers Island Ferry
District be and hereby are authorized to approve the change order
for the additional expense of $13,615.00 for driving spiles for the
new ferry boat ramp at New London, Connecticut.

Supervisor Martocchia:
26. Request for summer employment from John Delaney, Jr.
who worked last year as a radio operator with the Southold Town
Police Department.
27. Receipt of a letter of commendation from the U.S.
Coast Guard Shinnecock, Hampton Bays, New York to the Police Depart-
ment for the assistance rendered during the search for members of the
Hepworth family off Greenport on April 1 & 2, 1978. Bay Constables
Januick and Lang assisted in this search.
On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED that 3:30 P.M., April 25, 1978, Southold Town Hall, Main
Road, Southold, New York as time and place for hearing upon applica-
tion of Stanley S. Corwin ale Frank S. Rosenberg and Margaret E.
Rosenberg for a wetland permit under the provisions of the Wetland
Ordinance of the Town of Southold for perl,ission to do maintenance
dredging at head of Stirling Creek, south side of Champlin Place,
Greenport, New York, and to deposit some of the excavated material
on adjacent land. All persons interested in said matter should
appear at the time and place above specified and will be given an
opportunity to be heard.

28. Receipt of a letter from Lawrence W. Stephenson,
Phoenix, Arizona offering for sale a parcel of land at Soundview
Avenue, Southold, better known as Hummel's Pond. 1'his parcel is
approximately 4 acres of land, the pond included. The Board br~efly
discussed this offer today, and will further discuss it later in the
day.
29. The Town Clerk has been instructed to make inquiries
of neneral Code Publishers for the cost of reproducing the various
ordinance pamphlets. At the present time the Code is being sold
for$yO.OO and the cost of new copies exceeds $60.00. It is possible
the present prices for the various pamphlets is too low also.
30. Receipt of tentative special franchise assessments -
Fishers Island Electric Corp., Long Island Lighting Co., Fishers
Island Water Works, Fishers Island Telephone Co., New York Telephone
Co., So. New England Telephone Co. and L.I. Cablevision.
31. Receipt of a letter from the Greenport School relative
to the summer recreation program. The school is having a problem
because of the construction going on at the school and would like to
consider a fall program. The Board is of the opinion an outside .'
summer program should be developed at the school site. Supervisor
Martocchia will discuss this matter with Dr. Kalish.
