HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/27/1956 DUd . . EETING OF MARCH 27, 1956 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, March 27, 1956. The meeting was called to order at L;30 P.M. with the following present: Bupervl.sor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark, Demarest and Edwards; Councilman Albertson; Sup't of Highways Price; Town Attvrney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Al@ertson: RESOLVr~: That the minutes of the two previous meeting sl March 6 and March 7, be and hereby are duly approved as corrected. Vote of Town Board :Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark, Demarest and Edwards and Councilman Albertson. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly Audit meeting of this Board will be held at lhe office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, April 10, 1966, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board:Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark, Demarest and Edwards, Councilman Albertson. Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Fishers Island Electric Corporation to install one additional 60 c.p~ aerial street light in the Fishers Island Lighting District, said light to be placed on Pole No. 201 in front of the Doctor's Clinic on Montauk Avenue, Fishers Island, N.Y. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark, Dmmarest and Edwards, Councilman Albertson. Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by Justice Tuthill: vlliEREAS, the Fishers Island Fire District has recommended that William H. Pyle be appointed Fire Department Inspector NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That William H. Pyle be and he here- by is appointed Fire Department Inspector to serve in such capacity in the Fishers Island FiBe District until Uanuary 1, 1957, in accord- ance with Article 8, Section 303, sub-division 4 of the Multiple Resident Law, and be tt further RESOLVED: That the above mentioned person serve in such capacity without compensation. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark, Demarest and Edwards,Councilman Albertson. The Following Bonds were presented to the Board for their approval: Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson: RESOLVED: That Bond No. 538350, issues by the Travelers Indemnity Company on behalf of Wilfred C. Sinclair, in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5',000) be and the same is hereby approved as to its fvrm, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties thereinl Vote of Town ~oard: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthilli ftlark, Demarest, Edwards and Councilman A bertson. Moved by Justice Edwards; seconded by crounc~lman Albertson: RESOLVED: That Bond No. 538351, issued by The Travelers IndemnHy Company on behalf of Adelard T. LeGere, in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5',000), be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and SUfficiency of sureties therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthilli Clark, Demarest, Edwards and Councilman A hertson. Moved by Justice Edwards;seconded ly Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That Bond No. 538349, issued by The Travelers Indemnity Company on behalf of E_nest J. Bowles, in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) be and the same is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Justices Tuthill, Clark, Demarest, Edwards and Councilman Albertson. Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request the Long Island Lighting Company to remove theee (3) aerial street lights in tl,e East Marion Lighting District on Poles # 217, 220, and 223. Also remove two (2) aerial street lights in the Orient Lighting Sistrict on Poles # 212 and 215.
