The Code confirms the following definitions for our use: YARD LINE-- A line drawn parallel to a street or lot line at a distance therefrom equal to the respective yard dimension required by this chapter. YARD, REAR-- An unoccupied ground area fully open to the sky between the rear lot line and a line drawn parallel thereto. YARD, SIDE--An unoccupied ground area fully open to the sky between any property line other than a street or rear lot line and a line drawn parallel thereto between the front and rear yards. It is recommended that when the new construction is located within half of the property that could be defined as the front yard (in this example the southerly half closer to the street), then a line should be -ci drawn "parallel to the street lot line" to determine the angle of the rear yard line behind the pnal -dwelling;instead of a side yard as mentioned. The remaining yard angles could then be determined on the remaining half of the property with ease (drawn parallel from the rear lot line, etc.). This should not modify or alter the intent of the code or the regulations in any way but to clarify how parallel lines are planed or angled under the wording in the definitions.
