The project is currently underway at this time. During the course of this construction it was determined that the mid-section of the bluff (landwazd of the bulkhead) within the northern hatf of the property, was in need of further stabilization due to the instability of the slope, and the potential for slumping of same. Consequently, the owner wishes to install two (2) lengths of retaining walls in this azea to potentially eliminate this concern. In that the contractors aze on the property, including all associated equipment and machinery, implementing the approved-for bulkhead installation, we aze hoping to obtain approval to include the proposed retaining walls within the existing Boazd of Trustees permit via a contractor's amendment and/or permit modification. Consequently, please find enclosed: (1) Project Description indicating all specifications (two [2] copies); (2) Photographs of the property, indicating the approximate location of the retaining walls (two [2] sets); (3) Retaining Wall Partial Site Plan concerning subject proposal, prepared by IIRAL TALGAT, Architect, dated July 24, 2007, indicating the project specifications (two [2] copies); (4) Retaining Wall Cross-View, Site Plan Detail View and Frc-nt Detail View, prepazed by SUFFOLKENYIRONMENTAL CONSULTING, INC., dated August 8, 2007, indicating the project specifuations (two [2] sets); (5) Copy of the original Board of Trustees Amendment for easy reference; and (6) Check made payable to the Town of Southold to rnver the requisite application fee. Kindly review these items and issue the requested contractor's amendment at your eazliest opportunity. In the interim, the project has undergone an extensive review from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) which has resulted in a different project design. Consequently, we wish to modify the existing and "in-force" wetlands permit to reflect the current project design. Accordingly, please find enclosed: (1) Revised Project Description (three [3] copies); (2) Revised Proposed Steel Bulkhead Plan for subject property, prepared by SUFFOLK ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING, INC., last dated February 27, 2007, indicating for the revised project (three [3] sets); (3) Copy of the Town of Southold Board of Trustees Wetlands Permit (No. 6383), issued June 21, 2006, for reference; and (4) Check made payable to the Town of Southold to cover the requisite application fee. Please review these items. By way of this correspondence, and on behalf of Mr. Robert Swing, I request that you commence review of this application and schedule for the next available Board of Trustees meeting for discussion and final approval.
