July 19, 2006 regarding the above matter: WHEI tEAS, Patdcia C. Moore, Esq. on behalf of JOHN 8, JEAN WEBER applied to the South ~ld Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of Chapter 275 of the South :)Id Town Code, the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated May 5, 2006, and, WHEI ~EAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Court, ;il and to the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program Coordinator for their findings and ~commendations, and, WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said appliqation on July 19, 2006, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEi premi ~,EAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the ~es in question and the surrounding area, and, WHE ~,EAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concErning this application, and, WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standards set forth in Chapter 275 of the Southold Town Code, WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town, NOW THEREFORE BE IT, RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of JOHN & JEAN WEBER to reconstruct the existing 34' bulkhead in-place with vinyl sheathing, reconlstruct the lower 4'X 13' walk as is, and re-ins!all the existing dock, ramp and float in thelsame configuration, with the condition of a 6 non-turf buffer landward of the bulkhpad, and as depicted on the plan prepared by Robert H. As you may remember, Mr. King suggested that we eliminate a 13 foot section 'the seaward bulkhead as a cost cutting measure. After consulting with our ockbuilder, John Hocker of Latham Sand and Gravel, it was determined that this ..ction is required to support the large overhanging platform and subsequent ramp down the floating dock. He also stated that any savings would be absorbed by the expense of h:tving to support the platform independent of the bulkhead. i Also, given the close proximity of the house to the water, the double bulkhead as it is n.pw constructed provides an additional layer of protection needed during inclement Weather and freezing temperatures.
