Phone-734-7433 Feb. 13, 1990 Southold Town Planning Board Town Hall Southold, N.Y. ~~ ~ @ ~ G \flo\ FfB 1 . &Xl Dear Planning Board Members: SOUTIIOlD."".i, Pl~J~~,~r~,_~~ My wife and I are currently in negotiations with the owners of the defunct North Fork Clothing Co., 12900 Main Road, Mattituck ( Tax Map # 114-11-15 ). We would like to re-open this retail store, empty for the last year and a half and sell needlework kits, supplies and craft supplies. The purpose of this letter is to inquire whether an amended site plan is required prior to opening. Contract closing is scheduled in a few weeks. We plan no changes in the building except for cosmetic touch ups such as fresh trim paint, a top coating of new gravel in the parking lot, general clean-up, new plantings in the existing flower beds, and removal of the large freestanding sign at the edge of the property. Our lawyer interprets the new Southold Code such that the old sign might not conform to code and so we propose removing this sign and post and mounting a proper sign directly on the wall of the building. Enclosed please find a survey of the existing building, parking lot and neighbors east and west. Please consider this request at your next working session of the planning board. As local residents we could appear on short notice to answer any uncertainties you might have regarding our intentions for this property. Thanking you in advance, Stephen & Carol O'Connor I . --", -...... ',l f ., '. ;, ~.I'f :JI:-i/f-11 ~ /5, '" '. . It was the consensus of the Board that this would not need a formal site plan review since it is a pre-existing building which is non- conforming, and no site improvements could be made at this time. If any physical changes are made subsequent to this, however, it may need formal site plan consideration and shOUld be reviewed by the Planning Board.
