7:30 P.N. , Tuesday, September 4, 1962 at the Town Office,; Main Road,,
Southold; New"York.
Therewerepresent: Messrs. John wickham, Chairman, Henry Moisa,
Alfred Grebes Archibald Young,, and William Unkelbach.
Also presents Mr.. atto W. Van Tuyl Consultant, and Mr. Howard
Terry, Building Inspector.
PUBLIC HEARING; on the question of approval of the following
plat: 1. . Plat of property owned by George H.- Fleet -Estate.,
entitled Eastwood Estates, consisting of a parcel of land of -approx-
imately .7.87 acres, situated at-Cutchogue, in the Town of Southold,
Suffolk County, New York, and bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a monument on the northerly line of :South Cross
Road 175 feet westerly along said line from the westerly line of
Fleet's Neck Road; thence along said northerly line of- South Cross
Road S..57°42300"W. - 360.0 feet; thence along ,land .of Vanderbeck and

Mr._ Wickham did not participate in this hearing as he is
interested in this property. Mr. Young, Acting Chairman,, opened
the hearing by reading legal notice of hearing, affidavit attesting
to its publication in the official newspaper and letter, from the
Superintendent of Highways stating-that-he has inspected the roads
and at this stage find that they are being constructed in compliance
with the Highway Specifications of the Town of 'Southold.
ACTING CHAIRMAN-. Is there anyone present who would like to
speak in favor of this subdivision?
JOHN OIKEEFFE, ESQ. , Riverhead: I appear for the Fleet Estate
in support of this subdivision and say we wish you would see fit
to approve it.
ACTING CHAIRMAN: Does anyone wish to speak in opposition to
this proposed subdivision?
(There was no response. )
MR. JOHN WTCKI3AM: I have talked with Superintendent of Highways
Price on this and he says that in order to have the Town accept
dedication of the highway it would be necessary to- have .some arrange-
ments made for drainage.
ACTING CHAIRMAN: I think we can grant this and stipulate that
adequatedrainage will be required by the Supertn"Iendent of Highways.
MR' OIKEEFFE: That will be agreeable to use
ACTING'CHAIRMAN: Is there anything else?
(There was no response. )
ACTING CHAIRMAN: Since there is no ane else who wishes to say
anything regarding this subdivision I wii1 declare! the hearing closed.

Dear Mr. Reeve;
The Planning Board has been advised to review the few subdivisions
which we have approved and waived performance bond and the construction
of highways upon the owneris statement that he would dedicate to the
Town as soon as possible. The Town, some time ago, established new
specifications for dedication. The Planning Board has been requiring
performance bonds for highway construction in subdivisions. Accord-
ingly, we would appreciate hearing from you as to the condition of
the roads in the subdivision, Eastwood Estates, located in Cutchogue.
We would also like to know what progress you have made toward dedication
of the roads to the Town of Southold, and what progress you expect to
make in the next six moohs.
