ACCESS ROAD
COMMENTS :
I made an inspection of the RoO.V. on the above-noted map as follows: Monuments
shown on the map to determine the R.O.V. could not be found. A resident ot the
house on Lot No.1 in this subdiVision was familiar with the R.O.V.and indicated
to me the approximate location.
SOme work had been started for an entrance road here and from observations quite
some time ago. SOme clearing for a width or 15 ft. and a length of 60 ft. had
been done and coarse gravel placed for about the same dimensions.
'nIe remaining original surtace in the R.O.V. :Is variable, has contour changes in the
5 ft. 1:. range. As of today (no frost in the ground) there were ponded areas and
some swampy material (marsh land) where a road would be constructed. Most of the
R.O.V. is wooded.
REOOMMENIlA. 'liONS:
1. 'nIe lot Owner to have Van 'lIlyl submit an original surface profile in the center
of the R.O.V. together with a proposed access road profile for construction.
2. Clear the R.O. W. for a center line Width of 25 ft.
3. 'nIe access road to be 12 ft. in width and a length of 250 tt.
4. Remove topsOil, lea! mold, etc. for a depth of 12". Test probes indicated 12"
"in uplai1d. lihere swamr>y material is encountered more than 12" ..y have to be
removed. Probes there indicated over 12" of unsuitable lllaterial.
.5. Replace aJJ. unsuitable material and up to wi thin 4" ot the construction profile
wi th a good grade of com.pacted clean fill.
6. Place a COlllpacted 4" course at sand and gravel bankrun containing ~% or more ot
gravel and 15% of loam on the other material.
7. Place a 2t" top course of 3/4" s tone blend.
8. Drainage problems if any cannot be deterllined until the road profile is
submi tted.
