There is currently in the Agency & Trust Account two sums - $100.00 and
$150.00 in the name of Old Mill Inn. The sums represent surety and
maintenance bonds with respect to Highway Excavation Permit No.6, issued
on March 10, 1988.
Attempts have been made to contact David Rosenberg, then owner of the
Old Mill, with respect to the required inspection of this project, to no avail.
have also discussed this on several occasions with Superintendent of
Highways Jacobs who would conduct the inspection. He advises me he has
also been unable to make contact. It is believed Mr. Rosenberg has sold
the Old Mill Inn property. Telephone calls on April 17th to the telephone
numbers listed on the permit by myself revealed that the Mattituck number
298-8979 was disconnected, and the ?-698-5139 now belonged to someone
else.
Superintendent of Highways Jacobs and I agreed that the $250.00 in the
Agency & Trust Account should be paid to the General Fund. This
memorandum is being placed in the Old Mill Inn Excavation Permit file
should a question concerning this matter arise in the future.
For information purposes: The $150.00 surety deposit would have been
returned immediately upon inspection and approval of the project by the
Superintendent of Highways. The $100.00 maintenance bond would be held
for a period of three years from date of the approval following inspection.

Dear Mr. Rosenberg:
On March 10, 1988 this office issued you a Highway Excavation Permit.
At that time you submitted a check in the amount of $150.00 for surety,
and a check for $100.00 as a maintenance bond, to be held for a period
of three (3) years after the surety bond is released.
If you have completed the installation of the waste pipe, please contact
Superintendent of Highways Jacobs (765-3140) and request an inspection.
If the work has been performed to his satisfaction, your $150.00 surety
deposit will be returned to you promptly.
