The Planning Board has reviewed and approved the layout and location of
parking for your proposed roadside farm stand. as shown on the survey
received in this office on this date.
Further. our understanding is that the curb-cuts for this farm stand will
be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the New York State
Department of Transportation. Accordingly. the final grade of the
property after the stand. the curb cuts and the parking are installed will
correspond to the elevation drawings submitted to this office on October
2. 1995.
If any additional questions or problems should arise during construction
as you launch your new endeavor. feel free to contact this office again

Thank you very much for your letter of September 26, 1995 in which you requested the following
infonnation,
Enclosed please find a drawing to scale illustrating the stand in relation to the entrance and exit
drive, parking area and our house and driveway. It is our sincere intent and desire to provide a
safe parking area, therefore, we are most anxious and willing to work with the planning board to
accomplish this mutual goal.
Enclosed as well, is a drawing indicating the elevation as it exists in relation to the proposed
grading of the parking area,
In an effort to respond to your request for a listing of items to be sold, manner of production and
operation schedule we understand the code [100-31 A (2) (a)] to be "The raising of field and
garden crops, vineyard and orchard farming, the maintenance of nurseries ... grown on the
premises." Please be assured that do not have any intentions of offering items manufactured by a
second party.
Our plan at this time is to be opened on Thursday - Sunday from Sam - 6pm and perhaps an
"honor system" operation for some flowers on the remaining days.
We plan to offer organically grown specialty, heirloom and native crops produced on our land in
an environmentally responsible manner. As you may know, our growing space is approximately 1
acre, therefore, our operation will be on a very small scale, Below is a listing of the items we are
considering at this time. Please be assured that all future product considerations will be done so
in strict compliance with the code,

Currently, the products we are considering are as follows:
- Flowers and herbs (i.e.. sunflowers; lavender) fresh and dried sold as IS or arranged in a
decorative manner (i.e.. bouquets; herb wreaths)
- Preserved and baked goods (i.e.. jelly; zucchini bread) as inspected, approved, monitored and
licensed by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. License pending.
- The propagation of some plants (i.e.. Montauk Daises) as inspected, approved, monitored and
licensed by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. License pending.
- Small fruit (i. e.. blueberries, raspberries) if supply permits.
- And while we are not sure if we sure if we are interested or have the space to grow vegetables
we are exploring the possibility of producing some specialty and miniature varieties.

Dear Ms. Gamberg.
The Planning Board has reviewed the sketch of your roadside farm stand.
In order to review the parking. the Board requires a survey, to scale,
showing the stand in relation to the entrance and exit drive, parking
area, and your house and driveway.
In addition, elevations must be shown at the State Route 25, midway to
the stand and at the stand.
A detailed listing of what is to be sold at the stand and how it is to be
produced, together with the hours and days of operation are requested.
We tried to reach the Department of Transportation to determine if a
survey to scale was submitted with your application and if we could obtain
a copy of it. However to date, we have not heard from the DOT. An
inspection of the Building Department Files did not show a drawing to
scale, hence our request.

this office.

Thank you for your letter of September 13, 1995, concerning the proposed access on the south
side of State Route 25, east of Harvest Lane in Cutchogue.
Your application has been reviewed and has ben found to be acceptable. Prior to the issuance of
a State Highway Work Permit the following items must be addressed:
I. The plans must be revised to show the installation of asphalt in the driveways, which will
be installed from the edge of shoulder into the property line.
2. Provide information as to what type of plantings will be placed in the area between the
two curb cuts.
3. The brush must be cleared from the areas at the easterly and westerly side of the property
to provide the necessary sight distance for vehicles existing the site.
4. The asphalt berm must be maintained in the area between the two curb cuts.
5. The submittal of a permit fee in the amount of $25 .00 and an insurance fee in the same
amount for a total of$50.00 will be required.
