Re: Town of Southold Landfill
Laboratory Analytical Services
D&B No. 1314C
Dear Ms. Terry:
We have reviewed the bids for laboratory analytical services that you transmitted to us in a
memorandum dated July 20, 1995.
We found discrepancies in the quotes (bid) submitted by Nytest Environmental, Inc. (NEI) and
Adirondack. For NEI there was an error on Page 3 in the itemized costs where metals (baseline)
should be $135 not $35, also the prices on Page 2 were not comparable to the itemized costs on
Page 3. NEI is submitting revised bid forms with the costs as follows: Baseline Parameters $405
and Routine Parameters $230. The total revised contract cost is $23,670. For the Adirondack
bid, the prices on Page 3 of the itemized list were incorrect. They should be Metals (Routine)
$120 and Leachate (Baseline) $230. The total contract cost did not change.
When comparing the three bids:
NEI
Adirondack
E31
$23,670
$29,098
$40,880
NEI is still the lowest. Based upon the low bid and the fact that NEI has previously analyzed the
samples collected at the landfill, Dvirka and Bartilucci recommends that NEI be selected as the
laboratory for this project.

Dear Ms. Terry:
We have reviewed ~e bids for laboratory analytical services that you transmitted to us in a
memorandum dated Jbly 20, 1995.
I
We found discrepancjies in the quotes (bid) submitted by Nytest Environmental, Inc. (NEI) and
Adirondack. For NEt there was an error on Page 3 in the itemized costs where metals (baseline)
I
should be $135 not $~5. also the prices on Page 2 were not comparable to the itemized costs on
Page 3. NEI is sub~tting revised bid forms with the costs as follows: Baseline Parameters $405
and Routine Parameters $230. The total revised contract cost is $23,670. For the Adirondack
,
bid. the prices on Page 3 of the itemized list were incorrect. They should be Metals (Routine)
$120 and Leachate ~aseline) $230. The total contract cost did not change.
i
When comparing the !three bids:
NEI
$23.670
I Adirondack
$29,098
E3I
$40,880
i
NEI is still the lowest. Based upon the low bid and the fact that NEI has previously analyzed the
samples collected at the landflll, Dvirka and Bartilucci recommends that NEI be selected as the
laboratory for this project.
~e truly yours.

Analytical Services Agreement, must fulfill all of the 1991 NYSDEC ASP Quality
Control (QC) Requirements. In the event that the Laboratory fails to meet the ASP
requirements, the Laboratory shall bear the cost associated with resampling by the Town
