Re: Access Road for Thomas and Karen Uhlinger - two lot minor subdivision
Map dated amended January 8, 1980
Comments:
Inspected site on above date. Mrs. Uhlinger asked what kind of improvements
would be required for access to Lot No.2. Advised her of normal access
road improvement construction which she did not want to do. Lot No. 2 has
been sold. Later (11/17/86) was informed by Mrs. Uhlinger that the present
owner of Lot No. 2 in the sale contract was responsible for access to
Oregon Road and that road construction in the 25 ft. R.O.W. would conform
to Town standards.
Recommendations:
I. Remove trees in R.O.W. less than 3 ft. from sides of road.
2. Road width 16 ft.
3. Length of road - Plan shows 150 ft. into Lot 2. Would make this length
30 ft.I for a total length of 278I ft. from Oregon Road.
4. Remove topsoil for 12".
5. Road construction to consist of a 6" compacted course of bankrun con-
taining 15% or more of gravel, 10% of loam and a top course of crowned
compacted 3/4" stone blend. The depth of the top course to be 3" L.M.
to obtain a 2" compacted depth. If additional material is required
to meet subgrade for the 6" base course after topsoil is stripped, a
good grade of compacted clean fill can be used.
~ 6. A road profile to be submitted for approval showing elevations of the
existing surface. The sides of the road to be above the adjacent O.S.
C3":t) wherever possible.
7. See no drainage problem at this time unless a profile is submitted
showing a minus grade for the full length of the access into Oregon Road.
If so, installation of L.B. 's at the entrance might be necessary.

Pursuant to Article 8 of the Environmental Conservation Law
State Environmental Quality Review Act and 6NYCRR Part 617,
Section 617.10 and Chapter 44 of the Code of the Town of Southold,
notice is hereby given that Southold Town Planning Board as lead
agency for the action described below has determined that the
project will not have a significant effect on the environment.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTION
The minor subdivision of Thomas & Karen Uhlinger is a two-lot
residential subdivision of 2.0 acres located at Cutchogue.
The promect has been determined not to have a significant
effect on the environment for the following reasons:
An environmental assessment has been submitted which
indicated that no significant adverse effects to the
environment were likely to occur should the project
be implemented as planned.
The Department of Environmental Conservation is not
involved in the application because the property is
more than 300 feet from tidal wetlands and is not in
its jurisdiction.
The Suffolk County Department of Health Services has
indicated that a precursory review indicates conditions
are suitable for individual sewage disposal systems and
water supply facilities.
The project will meet all requirements of the Code of
the Town of Southold Subdivision of Land Regulations.
