COMMEN'IS:
October 3, 1984:
As requested, I inspected the base course for the above road. The course was acceptable
for width and depth as called for. Clearing has been done for the road length of
430 ft. which goes to the property line of Lot No.1, not into the lot as shown on
the map by Van 'fuyl. I assume that the owner advised the contractor as to the road
length.
October 4, 1984:
'!he base course was regraded, rolled and an asphalt top course placed by Corazzini
& Sons. I was unable to be present when the asphalt course was placed. '!he width
as called for is correct and test holes in the material show compacted depths from
2" to ~". 'lbnnage of material used according to Corazzini records is 75 tons. The
texture of the surface for the last load of material does not heV8 the same appearance
as the other loads. This will occur when asphalt with bankrun aggregate material is
used.
The asphalt road length is 430 ft. and with the 12 ft. width is 573 S. Y. Which
theoretically would require 78:! tons for a ~" depth.
I recommend approval of the road.

Re: George & Opal Akscin -
Minor Subdivision - Right-of-Way
In accordance with Diane's instructions, enclosed herewith is
a copy of Report No. 331 dated October 20, 1983 from John W.
Davis to the Planning Board regarding the above-captioned
matter. I am the owner of Lot 1, and the right-oi-way,
and have had completed steps 1 through 4. I am awaiting inspec-
tion, and am at this time requesting said inspection, before
proceeding further.
After said inspection has been made will you kindly furnish Mr.
Lee Dickerson and myself with a copy of the results.
After this I will then proceed to have the final step taken on
the road and am yet uncertain as to whether I will proceed with
Step 5 as contained in Report 331, or Step 5 of Report 339.
This latter report is also attached.
I believe I would prefer Step 5 of Re~ort 339, which is a finish
with macadam; however, I am still awa1ting an estimate of the
cost of same, which I was unable to get , or rather, request,
until the road had been finished up to this point.

Reference is made to your letter dated October 29, 1983
to Mr. R. G. Terry re right of way of George and Opal
Akscin. Attached to this letter was Report No. 331
dated October 20, 1983 to you from Mr. John W. Davis.
As of December 23, 1983 title has closed to this right of
way (and an adjoining lot), and same have been deeded to
me.
I would like to inquire what the requirements will be in
the event I decide to go in with a macadam road instead of
the bankrun, stone blend, etc. suggested by Mr. Davis. I
would like to have this prior to getting estimates on the
different types of road.

A regular meeting of the Southold Town Planning Board was
held July 18, 1977 at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, Main Road,
Southold, New York.

7:30 p.m. Public Hearing on the minor subdivision of property of
George and Opal Akscin. Mr. and Mrs. Akscin appeared.
Mr. Raynor read the notice of hearing and presented affidavits of
publication from the Suffolk Times and the Long Island Traveler-
Watchman. .

Mr. Raynor: This has been before the board in April, May, June
and July. (Mr. Raynor went over the checklist.) There are no
requirements for highway construction so there will not be a letter
from the Superintendent of Highways or the Highway Committee. As
is the policy, I will ask if there is anyone present that would like
to speak in opposition to the subdivision of George and Opal Akscin.
Hearing none, I would like to ask if there is anyone that would like
to speak in favor.
Mr. Akscin: I am in favor of it.
Mr. Raynor: Is there anything that has transpired since you last
met with us?

Mrs. Akscin: We changed the highway so it is 150 feet on that lot.
There are no changes other than that.

Mr. Raynor: You will have to pick up the form for covenants and
restrictions as to no further subdivision of lot number 3. We will
ask for recommendations of the town engineer as to the type of
surface required on that right-of-way. In the past, it has been a
dustfree surface.
Mrs. Akscin asked if the road would have to be completed right away
and Mr. Raynor said the town attorney would be contacted and the
board would get back to Mrs. Akscin.

On motion made by Mr. Coyle, seconded by Mr. Wall, it was
RESOLVED to approve the map of the minor subdivision of George
and Opal Akscin dated June 9, 1977 and amended June 30, 1977, subject ~
to covenants and restrictions being filed in the Suffolk County Clerk's
Office as to no further subdivision of lot number 3.

The following reports were read which were presented by Edward Bage, P.E.
#200 - Minor subdivision of Laurel Acres.
l,inspected the Right of Way as shown on this map and recommend
the following action be taken: ,/
1. The surface of the Right of Way should be graded level, at
the present time it has many dips.
2. A three inch layer of pea gravel should be spread over the
entire surface of the Right of Way.
#202 - Minor subdivision of Laurel Acres.
The recommendations made in my Report #200 dated June 3, 1977 ,/
have been accomplished. The Right of Way has been graded level and
a three inch layer of pea gravel applied over its entire surface.

This right of way is now in acceptable condition.
On motion made by Mr. Gordon, seconded by Mr. Wall, it was
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Planning Board accepts the
recommendations and findings of Edward Bage, Town Engineer, as
