NEGATIVE DECLARATION
December 15, 1980
Pursuant to Article 8 of the EnvironmentalConservation Law
state Environmental Quality Review Act and 6NYCRR Part 617,
Section 617.10 and Chapter 44 of the Code of the Town of Southold,
notice is hereby given that Southold Town Planning Board as lead
agency for the action described below has determined that the
proj~ct will not have a significant effect on the envirOnment.
DESCRIPTION OF ACTION
The minor subdivision of Joseph Gajeski is a two lot
residential subdivision located at Southold.
The project has been determined not to have a significant
effect on the environment for the following reasons:
An environmental assessment has been submitted which
indicated that no significant adverse effects to the
environment were likely to occur should the project
be implemented as planned.
Because there has been no response in the alloted time
from the Suffolk County Department of Health Services
it is assumed that there is no objection nor comments
by that agency.
The project will meet all the requirements of the Code
of the Town of Southold Subdivision of Land Regulations.
Further information can be obtained by contacting Ms.
Muriel Tolman, Secretary, Southold Town Planning Board, Main

May we have your views on this matter. Written comments

RE: Property of Joseph Gajeski on westerly
side of Maple Avenue, peconic, New York
Dear Messrs. Grigonis and Raynor:
In connection with the above-captioned matter the Board of
Appeals granted Mr. Gajeski a variance to subdivide his property
on Maple Avenue on August 14, 1980. On August 22, 1980, the
matter was submitted in proper form to the Planning Board for its
approval along with the required fee. On October 2, 1980 I re-
ceived a letter from the Planning Board disapproving the applica-
tion and returning the filing fee of $50.00.
I have contacted Robert W. Tasker, the Town Attorney, to dis-
cuss this situation, and he informs me that he will be amenable
to a meeting between all concerned parties to attempt to.seek an
amicable solution to this situation. Is it possible for you gentle-
men to contact Mr. Tasker to set up a meeting at which I will be
present to see if this situation can be resolved?
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Mr. Grigonis:
The Planning Board has reviewed your referral in the
matter of Gajeski.
The Board feels the property is~adequately drawn as is
and no variances should be given.
This is apparently derived out of a 16 acre piece of
property which will set a precedent for the remainder of
the tract. The original makes more sense than the appeal.
