The following action was taken by the Southold Town Board of Trustees at their Regular
Meeting held on Wednesday, April 24, 2002:
RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVE the Amendment to Permit
#769 to replace in-kind existing floating dock, ramp, and catwalk with a 6'X 44' floating dock,
3'X 10' ramp, and 4'X 80' catwalk. Floating dock reduced from 50' to 44' and catwalk
extended from total length of 66' to 80'.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

Your recent request to modify the above permit has been reviewed pursuant to 6NYCRR, Part
621. It has been determined that the proposed modifications will not substantially change the
scope of the permitted actions or the existing permit conditions. Therefore, the permit is
amended to authorize removal of the existing dock and construction of a 4' x 80.catwalk, a 4' x
10' ramp, and a 6' x 44' float secured by four pilings.
All work shall be done in accordance with the site plan stamped NYSDEC approved on 2/21/02
and the crossview stamped NYSDEC approved on 12/27/01.
This letter is an amendment to the original permit and, as such, shall be available at the job site
whenever authorized work is in progress.
All other terms and conditions remain as written in the original permit.

The following is in reference to the intention of Anthony R. & Joanne E. Kropp of 360
Riley Avenue, Mattituck, New York (11952) request for a permit to:
1) Replace existing floating dock, ramp and catwalk
2) Reshingle roof & install siding to backyard shed.
As our property is adjacent to the property (280 Riley Avenue), which is the subject of
the Environmental Review, we have no issues with the grant of this permit. However,
we would request that when the dock is positioned that it in no way encroach our
property/water access.

Boardwalk to be reconstructed measures

approx. 3 ft at to of planking. Boardwalk to be
extended landward of existing landward terminus
due to request of Town of South old, Town
Trustees, to extend the distance of the entrance
of boardwalk from the landward extent of the
tidal wetland boundary.
Ramp to be reconstructed from boardwalk to
floating dock is approximately 4 ft. wide,
by 10 ft in length.
Floating dock to be reconstructed measures
6 ft wide, by 44 ft in length, and existing ell
structure at north terminus to be removed.
No changes in grade, excavation, filling and lor
clearing is proposed.

All of the marine contractors I have contacted have
recorrunended the catwalk be 4' in width instead of the 3 I wide
as originally requested for safety reasons. A 4' width would
allow people to pass each other on this 80' long catwalk.
The DEe has requested amended copies of Dwg.#2 reflecting
this requested change to my previously approved sutmittal.
