WATERWAY: Deep Hole Creek, Great peconic Bay LOCATION: Mattituck, Town of Southold, Suffolk County, NY As this is minor in nature, authorization may be by Letter of Permission. This is in accordance with current Federal Regulations governing work in navigable waters of the United States. To accomplish the coordination required, prior to the issuance of a Letter of Permission, your review of the enclosed drawings is requested. Pursuant to Section 307 (c) of the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 as amended (16 U.S.C. 1465 (c) (3) (A)), the applicant has certified that the activity complies with and will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the approved state coastal zone management program. SANTI GATE applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated January 7, 1998, and, WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on February 25, 1998, at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning this application, and, WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 37-18 of the Southold Town Code, WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town, . . NOW THEREFORE BE IT, RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees grant a Wetland Permit to construct a 4' X 40' catwalk, 4' X 16' ramp, and a 6' X 20' float, install two 2~pile dolphins to secure floating dock, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be considered a determination made for any other Department or Agency which may also have an application pending for the same or similar project. Permit to construct project will expire two years from the date it is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the date of this notification. The notice informs me of a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, November 18, 1997, which is in excess of two months ago. Please be advised that there is an existing dredged channel that runs adjacent and parallel to the existing shore line. This channel provides the only access to the main channel to the east. In reviewing the project plan which came with the notice, it is my understanding that the proposed project will cut off access to the main channel from my property and my neighbor to the north. I feel the project in its current form is unacceptable and requires further review by the Board.
