NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with the provisions of
Section 103 of the General Municipal Law, that sealed bids are sought and
requested for the purchase of TWO (2) SWENSON MODEL EV200 MATERIAL
SPREADERS (OR EQUAL) for the Southold Town Highway Department.
Specifications may be obtained at the Office of the Town Clerk, Town of
Southold, Town Hall, Main Road, Southold, New York 11971.
The sealed bids, together with a Non-Collusive Bid Certificate and
bank draft or certified check in the amount of $100.00, will be received
by the Town Clerk, at the Southold Town Hall, Main Road, Southold, New
York, until 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 14, 1994, at which time they will
be opened and read aloud in public. The Town Board of the Town of
Southold reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any and
all informality in any bid should it be deemed in the best interest of the
Town of Southold to do so.
All bids must be signed and sealed in envelopes plainly marked "Bid
on Material Spreaders", and submitted to the Office of the Town Clerk.
The bid price shall not include any tax, federal, state, or local, from which
the Town of Southold is exempt.

Part I
INTENT
It is the intent of this document to describe a Swenson Model EV
200-10 CS Material Spreader, manufactured in high grade carbon
steel.
The successful bidder shall install and deliver to the TO'.'ffi of
Southod Highway Dept. a new and previously unused unit, which meets
or exceeds the various technical specifications and requirements
described herein.
In addition, the items listed below shall also be considered as
a mandatory part and parcel to the bid and the property of the Town
of Southold.
1. Spreader Specifications - for the purpose of evaluation, each
vendor shall at the time of the bid provide two (2) copies of a
technical de:3cr:.ption of the unit he/she J.:;,roposeE.~ to furnish. Said
representation should be sufficiently detailed so as to address
this bid on 3.n item by item basis. Specifications subm.itted by
vendors 8.112..11 be instrumental in 8ubst.':I.nti3.ting compliance with
this bid.
2. Brochures - for the purpose of evaluation, each vendor shall
submit two (2) copies of manufacturer's color brochures depicting
current production model, by means of photograph. ( Xerox, Fax
Copy, or Artist's Sketch not acceptable.) Brochure should be
sufficiently detailed so as to clearly illustrate general
arrangement and fabrication of the sander body, spinner assembly,
spinner motor loca:.ion, and conveyor motor- location
3. Coating Specifications and Samples for the purpose of
evaluation, each vendor shall at the time of the bid provide two
(2) copies of a technical description of the coating he/she intends
to supply. Vendor s:hall also provide both wet and dry samples at
the time of the bid. Wet sample shall be not less than 1 pint by
volume. Dry sample shall be on flexible, non-porous metallic
sur-face, not less than 3" x 5" in size. Dry film mil thickness of
the sample 8he.l1 be consistent with the requirements of this
specification.

Part II GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This specification shall describe a Swenson Model EV 200-10 CS
Material Spreader, manufactc:red in high grade carbon steel and
capable of hauling and spreading free flowing granula.r materials
from a minimum width of four (4) feet to a maximum of forty (40)
feet.
This unit shall consist of a body, top screens, spinner assembly
and hydraulic controls.

MAnufacturers Re'::uirements
Spreader Manufacturer shall provide maintenance and repair manuals
for each unit supplied.
Spreader manufacturer shall warrantee product against structura~
defects for a period of not less than one (1) year Warranty shall
include all parts and labor.
Spreader manufacturer shall be engaged in the prcduction of units
of this type while operating under the same business name for' a
period of no less than 2 years.

Part I
INTENT
It is the intent of this document to describe a Swenson Model EV
200-10 CS Material Spreader, manufactured in high grade carbon
steel.
The successful bidder shall install and deliver to the Town of
Southod Highway Dept. a new and previously unused unit, which meets
or exoeeds the various technical specifications and requirements
described herein.
In addition, the items listed below shall also be considered as
a mandatory part and parcel to the bid and the property of the Town
of Southold.
1. Spreader Specifications - for the purpose of evaluation, each
vendor shall at the time of the bid provide two (2) copies of a
technical description of the unit he/she proposes to furnish. Said
representation should be suffiCiently detailed so as to address
this bid on an item by item basis. Specifications submitted by
vendors shall be instrumen"!:'a.l in 8ubstantil3.ting compliance with
this bid.
2. Brochures - for the purpose of evaluation, each vendor shall
submit two (2) copies of manufacturer's color brochures depicting
current production model, by means of photograph. ( Xerox, Fax
Copy, or Artist - s Sketch not acceptable.) Brochure should be
sufficiently detailed so as to clearly illustrate general
arrangement and fabrication of the sander body, spinner assembly,
spinner motor location, and conveyor motor location
3. Coating Specifications and Samples for ~he purpose of
evaluation, each vendor shall at the time of the bid provide two
(2) copies of a technical description of the coating he/she intends
to supply. Vendor shall also provide both ',vet and dry samples at
the time of the bid. Wet sample shall be not less than 1 pint by
volume. Dry sample shall be on flexible, non-porous metallic
surface, not less t.han 3" x 5" in size. Dry film mil thickness of
the sample shall be consistent with the requirements of this
specification.
Failure on the part of any vendor to comply with each of the
mandatory requirementE:, specifications, and/or qualifica~ions
described in this document may result in disqualification ot such
bids.

Part II GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This specification shall describe a Swenson Model EV 200-10 CS
Material Spreader, manufactured in high grade carbon steel and
capable of hauling and spreading free flowing granular materials
from a minimum width of four (4) feet to a maximum of forty (40)
feet.
This unit shall consist of a body, top screens~ spinner assembly
and hydraulic controls.

Material Spreader, manufactured in high grade carbon steel and
