Parking
Your Letter August 6, 1985
Your letter informed us that the Southold Post Office has been relocated to
Traveler Street and that the "No Parking" restriction in front of the former
post office is no longer required and asked the State to include this area
into the two hour parking that currently exist on the north side of Route 25.
We will repeal the "No Parking" restriction on the north side of Route 25 at
the former post office as you requested. A review of parking restrictions on
the north side of Route 25 from Wells Avenue to Young's Avenue shows that
several changes are required. A "No Standing" restriction opposite Wells
Avenue will be expanded to 140. feet and will include both driveways of the
towns municipal parking lot.-- A new "No Standing" restriction will be
established at Young's Avenue. It will begin 56. feet west of Young's Avenue
and extend to 30* feet east of Young's Avenue. --Buses use both "No Standing"
restriction as bu~ stops. This is a legal use of a "No Standing" area and bus
information signing can also be installed. The area between these two
restrictions and the area east of Young's Avenue to Ann's Way will be signed
for "Two Hour Parking".
The changes in the parking restriction discussed above will be posted by our
Maintenance forces as their work schedule permits.
Thank you for bringing to our attention the relocation of the Southold Post
Office.

Dear Mr. Pell:
The Town Board met September 22, 1981 on Main Street Market traffic
flow. After brief discussion on traffic problems at intersection
of Youngs Avenue and Main Road, a demonstration for plot plan has
been accepted by this board June 22, 1981. The following factors
should be considered: ' ~
New York State Department of Transportation survey to
reschedule timing for the traffic light at this inter-
section.
Creation of dual North bound on Youngs Avenue, South of
the Main Road. The easterly lane of this division should
be utilized for right hand turning only.
Establishment of the no-parking zone to approximately 200
feet from the intersection South on the easterly side of
Youngs Avenue.
4. No-parking signs should be located on the Main Road for
approximately 150 feet.
5. Ail remaining traffic control signs are indicated on the
