Hennessy, Commissioner Town of Southold Town Hall Main Road Southold, NY 11971 Gentlemen: Our Community Assistance Unit will be presenting its second Technical As- sistance Program titled "Model Traffic Ordinances." The course will be given twice, on September 29th and 30th at: 10:30 A.M. 6th Floor Classroom State Office Building Veterans Memorial Highway Hauppauge, New York If you plan to attend or be represented at either meeting, please call our Community Assistance Engineer Doug Gensinger at (516) 979-5136 to make reservations. I believe this course will be very useful to the Long Island municipalities since it deals with the proper methods of setting up municipal traffic codes (ordinancing stop signs, speed limits, parking, etc.). As you know, properly ordinanced signs are enforceable by your police and adjudicated in your local courts. Your interest in the CHIPS courses in June and July was most gratifying and am looking forward to your participation in this and future T.A.P. courses. If we can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact Doug Gensinger at 979-5136. Sincerely, T. C. HOFF)~AN Regional Traffic Engineer Region 10 TCH:DG:JS
